MW F80 M3 at Niello BMW Elk Grove

Just left my dealer at got a good look at their launch car. Mineral White/Black M3 w/Executive Package, Lighting, DCT, sunroof, dark 437's, Drivers Package. The only things it doesn't have is CCB's and CF roof.

That thing looks mean. The MW sort of washes out the lines in certain views. The stance is badass!!!

This one is for sale at MSRP which was $81K. I'm going to drive it later today.

Get some pics! Surprising to hear that MW washes out the lines. That's something I believe to be more prevalent with AW.

I will try and get some tomorrow. My views were the morning sun, so I want to make a fair comparison.

I went back over to snap some iPhone pictures. They had it inside to detail/wash it, so the first shots are inside. Before I left, they pulled it out front before pulpit in on the showroom floor.

Enjoy.

It does look classy. In direct sunlight at certain angle, the lines are slightly washed out. I would pay a $500 incentive for an alcantara headliner though.

Does it look more alpine white under those conditions? I ordered MW M4 and haven't found any decent pics of it yet... i just did it based off of the MW M3 pics i've seen... hope it wasn't a bad decsion... eek... figured there would be good MW M4 pics by now...

No not more white, more subdued, almost dirty. I think if it had more metallic in it, it would still pop in direct sunlight.

My better half had a pearlescent Ford Thunderbird, that was more prominent in depth of color. My perception is based off of that.

Inside it looks like Alpine White until you get closed and see the difference.

Wow, that is so much like my order. MW, sunroof, full black leather, black wheels. That is until today when I changd to AW. I love how MW looks in the sun, much better than AW IMO. Just look at the silverish shine and the sharp lines. However here in the PNW the land of permanent overcast AW just pops a bit better. MW can take on a bit of a transluscent look in overcast that I'm not a huge fan of. If I lived where the sun shines I'd kept MW for sure. Really looks great in these pix

Thanks for all the photos GBpackerfan! The car looks so much better and aggressive with the carbon fiber roof IMO.

Another interesting point is that the hood release has to activated twice like the safety locks on the doors. There is no actually hood release on the hood.

Two pulls of the release handle and the hood opens up. You do have to close it pretty hard. Don't expect to slowly close the hood because it will only catch on the secondary latch and you will not be able to push it down to fully latch.

You will have to go and pull the hood release once and then get back out and close the hood hard. Just an FYI.

While we are on the topic of hoods... I will second your story about closing the hood, and give a warning. I was at the NY auto show playing around with the M4, and somebody lightly closed the hood so one side was still up. I put my hand on the side that was still unlatched and pushed down to get it to close, and instead of closing, the aluminum hood pushed in (like a big dent). Scared the shit out of me, and I pulled my hand away. Luckily the dent quickly popped itself back out... but I thought that I had just dented a show car. I can see this happening a lot, so keep people away from your car and don't let them touch the hood.
