H&R Race springs good or bad?

I am sorry if this has been asked before but I cannot find a specific thread about my question.

I am looking at M3 that I am 99% buying, the seller has on it H&R race springs. How bad is the race springs in terms of ride quality? Any long term affect on suspension if the suspension is stock (coil-overs and shocks). I believe he only installed race springs but didn't do the whole suspension change.

I am NOT tracking the car. It will be my DD. Any feedback is appreciated. Should I go for it or avoid it? My main concern is reliability of suspensions and ride quality will they stand for longer time or I should expect changing them soon.

If you are concerned with ride quality then I would stick with oem suspension as the H&R race springs will certainly not ride as comfortably.

I've driven EDC E9X M3's on H&R race in the past and thought it was pretty good. Probably doesn't ride quite as well as stock, but looks a lot better. Go for it.

But my question is how long would the stock suspension last with aftermarket spring. If I have chance to put the spring back to stock I would do it but the car already comes with H&R race springs installed so I am buying the car with mods.

It doesn't lower it very much, and stock suspension doesn't last long anyway, you'll probably have overly soft shocks within 50k miles on a completely stock car. I don't think such a small drop spring is going to wear the stock suspension out any quicker.

If you are buying a car with the springs already installed it will probably feel fine. It's not until you ride in a car with oem suspension that you would notice the difference.
