1M more personality than M4
Reading the Car mag thread on M4 forum and see the test of M4 against the competition mentions the 1M has more personality and more engaging to drive than M4.

In all honesty I'm not surprised. And if the M4 has less personality than the 1M, then I wonder how it compares to the E9x M3? A turbo 6 will never be able to compare the what the S65 was in my opinion.

It would be an excellent daily driver, being as refined on public roads as it is at speeds exceeding 200km/h. On track, the adaptive suspension and stock PSS were at least the equal of my KW CS with PSC+ regarding lateral loads (peak 1.2g to 1.3g), but it certainly did not feel fast or engaging. Many others also noticed the lack of punch or responsiveness at lower rpm, despite BMW instructors encouraging short-shifting and the torque curve. This is quite the opposite of our 1M in 3rd gear over-boost, and quite the opposite of our 1M which requires intense concentration at high speeds. The DCT transmission only reinforced this lack of driver engagement. The CCB factory upgrade was excellent. These comments were similarly echoed from other 1M, E9x, R35, GT3, etc drivers. So it is now obvious that the F8x is not at all similar to the 1M even though it may be more luxurious, more technologically advanced, and (considerably) easier to drive quickly than the E82. |

I'm going to build an m4. Without taking anything away from the 1m or e9x I still think the m4 has a lot of potential.
