Got pics? To install factory belt without drilling, you will need this. But keep in mind this is only compatible with other Macht Schnell hardware. VAC also sells something similar. In general for install you'll need:

Seat
Side Mount
Floor mount
Seat belt receptacle adapter
Sliders (optional)
Side mount shims (optional)

1. Unbolt factory seat.

2. Install floor mounts.

3. Attach side mount to seat.

4. Install seat belt receptacle underneath side mounts. These adapters will get sandwiched in between side mount and floor mounts.

5. If you wish, you can also install optional sliders.

6. Bolt up factory belt to floor mount. Bolt up seat belt receptacle to receptacle bracket.

7. Take assembled seat (with side mount, receptacle adapter and slider) and line it up on the floor mount. It will take a few tries because you need to balance: a) is seat centered with steering wheel, b) will the door close without rubbing seats, and c) will the seat slide up/down ok.

To avoid the seat rubbing against doors, you want to go furtherst inboard (towards the trans tunnel / shifter). But if you go TOO close on the trans tunnel, the seat belt receptacle might catch against the trans tunnel preventing you from sliding seat full length. But from experience, going furthest in is better since rubbing the door panel sucks and it'll keep you most centered with the steering wheel.

Also, you want to use this time to figure out how to angle the seat. I first installed seat at 90* and I found it to be very uncomfortable over long drive. My lower back would get tired from sitting too upright. I changed it to have front high and rear low, and this provides most comfort and support. It also feels good even when driving on track!

8. To help center the seat by TINY increments without moving over on the next set of holes on floor mounts, you can use shims in between seat and side mounts. See here.

9. FYI - Recaro offers 2 side mounts for Pole Position. One is SPECIFIC to Pole Position, one is UNIVERSAL. Both will work. Difference is UNIVERSAL one will NOT let you move far back. I think the Pole Position specific side mounts gives most room.

10. Figure out how to code airbag light. Should only be issue if you are replacing passenger seat too but driver side alone should not trigger anything.

EAS has a DIY video on YT, very helpful. Be sure to watch it few times before attempting install. And remember to add loctite on the bolts.

No problem, best of luck.

Seems like you need to buy few more things, unfortunately for BMW seat hardware is VERY expensive. If you buy new, it all adds up almost same price as a cheaper seat lol.

Btw Macht Schnell was only 1 example. Like I said, VAC also sells hardware and you should also look up company called Planted. Planted makes good hardware for E46, not sure if they have anything for E8/9x. Also there's a vendor who came up with a new floor mount design that is user friendly. Link here:

Lastly if you decide to go with MS or Vac, you should look for used parts on forums. These 2 are most popular brands so it shouldn't be difficult finding them cheap. I know I've seen some parts listed in the last few months here, m3forum, e46fanatics, bimmerforums and bimmerfest. Be sure to check both interior and race part classified sections.

Here's a picture of my Recaro's in my Z4 =)

Final product!

You have correct mounts. The picture you posted from forum is the older style mounts but the one you purchased are newer design. The race bolts are the shims I was referring to and they are optional. I don't think you will need them.

Hard to tell from pics but I'm sure you'll figure it out once all the parts are in front of you. Else call EAS or MS but the install is fairly straightforward. The hardest part is positioning the seat on the floor mounts.

Edit - took a look at the new brackets, seems like you bolt them vertically onto ge floor mounts.
