F15 m sport: help

Ordered the x5 xdrive35i m sport a few weeks ago in black sapphire metallic. I plan on debadging the "xdrive35i" badge on the sides and adding a small M badge above the gills in the fenders. Any tips on how to go about doing this? Thanks

Heat with a blow dryer and then use fishing line/dental floss behind the badge and you can use it to separate the badge from the car. Search on how to de-badged car and you will be able to find 100 how to videos

park in the sun for a few hours and make sure the badges are in direct sunlight... or hit it with a blow dryer or heat gun if you have access to one. Then just peel off the badges with your fingers (be careful, the plastic will be hot if you use a heat gun). Any access glue just peel off with your fingers by rubbing across the glue and rolling it. If it's a fairly new car, you should be fine with that... if the car is a few years old, use a little goo gone on the glue to remove it. ( be warned that if your car is a few years old and has been exposed to the sun alot, the paint color under the badges will be a different color)

Good luck!

Realoem.com

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...30&hg=51&fg=20

The part number you're looking for should be 51148058882

Of course it's not available from Tischer. You can try calling around your dealer.

Unjust got back from the nurburgring in Germany, all m package cars there do have this m badge at the front "gill" side air vent. I saw many x5 m sports and 3 and 5 series wagons that were m package, they all had this m badge. They don't have the motor but have everything else. In the u.s. They don't put the m emblems. I bought some while in Europe and I put them on my x5 too.

Believe me it is MUCH more than just a motor. All the MSport stuff is usually cosmetic.

So find a nice "M Package" badge to put on it.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it's kind of like telling someone they have bad breath. Not a pleasant thing for either party, but, after the embarrassment and awkwardness, everybody is better off in the long run.
Most people don't know the difference. Some people who are unknowledgeable about BMW's may think the M badge means something about it being sportier or whatever, but for the most part, most people aren't going to think anything about it at all. But people who know about BMWs notice M badges on non M cars and are not impressed. Eyes roll and unkind thoughts are usually directed at the tool that puts M badges on non m cars. I'm not passing judgement myself, I'm not telling you should or you shouldn't. All I'm saying is the judgement from others, (while it can be debated whether it is right or wrong), is real. M badges on a non M car will be judged harshly by those who know and won't be judged at all by those who don't. So, the question ultimately comes down to, who are you trying to impress?

Wanna b

Mrv99 yes, we also
Have a m6 and an old m5 I am aware that the m cars have more items than the "m sport" cars that aren't equipped with m motors, my point was that in Europe the cars and suv's that have the m sport package (not m cars) do have the small m on the side front fenders. I'm not a fan at all of putting an m badge on the rear deck etc trying to make a regular car appear to be a real m5 or m6 or x5m. All I was saying was in Europe the side does have the small m on the m sport equipped vehicles. Also my f15 x5d "msport" has m door sills and m steering wheel and came with m key fob.

On our '13 and I assume the F15 also, there are M badges on the door sills, steering wheel, and wheels. If you're debadging seems you should want a clean look. Skip the M badge and get a license plate frame.

For what it's worth there is an M performance pack that upgrades HP and torque on ours. So a little bit more than cosmetic but not full M power for sure.

Exactly! You said it "c o s m e t i c" Isn't that what he's trying to accomplish here? Who cares... he's an enthusiast. That's all that matters. No need to understand.

I personally chose to save the $130 per horse and keep the $20,000 in the bank. 550hp is pretty useless in Dallas traffic anyway. It's what fits individual needs, likes and purpose.

I don't understand the hate. I've seen so many mercedes cars that have the AMG-package and have the amg badges on the trunk lid and the sides.

Coming from an enthusiast myself, I don't see whats wrong with it.

I just purchased a 2014 X5 xDrive35i M-Sport yesterday from here in Richmond, British columbia canada. It already had the M-badges on the left and right side vents.

And besides who made you haters the authority on whats acceptable and not? This is a BMW community, we shouldn't be ripping on each others rides.
