Jag F-Type Coupe

After three years of 1M ownership I'm starting to feel the itch . . . don't know if I can bare to part with it, and the back seat is useful, but I do think the new F-Type coupe is looking damn good.

I agree with Chris Harris that the current Porsche 911 (991) is slightly disappointing, and it's at least 2 more years until we get the M2, so perhaps that opens the window for Jaguar to get back in the game

I'd say go for it. I don't think you will be disapointed. If I had the means well....

But keep the 1M if you can

Normally against anyone getting rid of their 1M bit the F-type coupe is really stunning. Sport seats look awesome too. If you get it go with Amethyst Purple.. yellow calipers. It has the profile of a Vanquish!

To get one with some mumbo you need to get an S, but ultimately the R is where it's at, power and sound wise IMO.

$120k +++ for the base, $150k +++ for the S, lol the R is $220k ++++

Does have a hot arse though

Yeah, it's hard to get your head around the R pricing in Australia . . . when you consider that you can get into a Cayman S for something like A$160k. Bet dealers will be selling R demos for A$180k in six months time. Only way I could make R price work for me is if I convince myself I'm buying an alternative to a 911, not a Cayman S (or M2).

A 991 C2S is as quick as a 997.2 GT3!!! but it has a sunroof, no roll cage, and alot of luxury. best car i have ever owned. Chris Harris is as usual talking out his giant ass. Next week he will be saying the jag is a piece of shit i honestly think he has no idea how influential he is becoming and his brain has not yet gained control of his sphincter, anyway.... even though the C2S is awesome i still kept the 1M, nothing else is as loose

I agree in part Beemer but, stop and turn and the GT3 is gone. A new C2S can't be had for .2 GT3 money, $40-$50k more to get a C2S. In 12 months a 997.2 GT3 will be worth not much less than you pay today, C2S well, like any new car it will depreciate a significant amount. If that's not a problem and you want to keep it for a long time, all good, just sayin. If you need a back seat and a sunroof, again the C2S is a more logical choice, horses for courses.

Loose? Come along to the next dyno day and have a laugh in my BS, it's pure comedy.

I had the same thought as you NPV. The only scary thing about Jag is the depreciation. I know the XK's did not hold their value well at all, well atleast where I live. With the 991 I would rather go with a 4S. I absolutely love the 991 but I think it would have to be a 991 GT3

Stunning car. I think it would be worthy enough to replace the fun of the 1M. I have been admiring them myself.

I'll try to get to one of these sometime. I have to say that the 997.2 GT3 does not leave the 991 C2S at all, on the track, corner speed, lap times, straight line, no where, it will even depreciate faster There was simply no reason to buy a 997.2 unless you wanted a manual.
Its such a massive step up from the 997 which i test drove a lot of, thats why i cannot understand sir chris harris calling it weak. makes no sense.

Jag looks nice, definitely the coupe. will depreciate as quick as a 991 but you don't buy cars for that reason.

I'm a 2-seat guy myself. In 3 years my back seats have never had a passenger. It was the same with my Minis. So, I get where you're coming from.

I have to second the depreciation concerns but you can always lease until an M2 I suppose.

It sounds like you have a wide budget so there will be a lot of great candidates. I can't wait to see what you decide. I put a deposit on an M2 already and am halfheartedly looking at humbler options like the Cayman GTS or Alfa 4C in the interim. I'm just too happy with the bulldog even after all this time.

I haven't ruled out the 991 . . . works well for me because I have three kids. I have an old 911 (71S) and it would look great in the garage with a 991C4S . . . maybe in Aqua Blue!!

Hey Alpine, i happened to park next to a silver clk black today, this is a coincidence as its the first time i have ever seen one, and the wheel arches are obscene, looked loose just standing still!!! its was at the mercedes dealership at alexandria.

Funny, it's amazing that when you talk about or buy a certain car you see them everywhere. And, yes, the flared wheel arches are ridiculous.

I too love the big ar5e C4Ss NPV!

Love the new F-Type - I think I would be torn between this and a Cayman GTS. But they are both too impractical for me right now, still need the 1M as a DD for 3/4 of the year.

I couldn't do Au$200K+ for a Jag...as much as I love their new Ad.
I had a a Cayman S for extended drive, the car is so near perfect with sports exhaust...amazingly balanced, better looking bottom than F-type, and in red it just reminds of a classic Ferrari. Only downside was I felt like I was cheating on my 1M...just a bit.
