Suggestions on new X5

I am planning to order a new X5 soon and I have been thinking about these questions from long time.

1. I am considering to go with "Ivory White Nappa Leather" for the interior and I haven't seen any post with White exterior and ivory white nappa interior. Is that a right choice to proceed?

2. Can we order a M-sport steering wheel with out M-sport package?

3. When would the 2015 model be out in the market. I might be ordering my X5 around last week of May. I can wait for a month if the new model is releasing.

Waiting for your suggestions.

Thanks

1.Scroll down a bit further and you should see alpine white
2.White interior looks cool, but I think people are concerned with how well it stays clean and looks over time. I share this concern
3.Yes, somehow you can do this ala-carte but maybe a dealer installed option where you end up with two steering wheels??
4. 2015 probably will not be delivered until 4th Q 2014. The '14's were available in Oct-Nov '13 or thereabouts.

Per #3, you can't without the M Sport package. Aftermarket, sure. But it will cost you around $2K or so. The buttons and airbag are not transferable between styles and both components are costly.

In Europe you can. Why can't you in the US ?

There are tons of things you can do in Europe you can't do here. In Europe, there are numerous a la carte options. In the US, most are contained within packages with a few additional options. Overrides are typically not possible with the exception of some Individual configurations, and even those are usually just limited to interior/exterior colors and interior trims.

Best way to describe is to just look at the configurators. BMW.de lets you practically select every option individually. BMWUSA.com doesn't. You have engine, colors, wheels, a handful of packages, and a few individual options that may or may not be part of a containing package.

In the UK you can add a sports steering wheel to a non M Sport model but it's not the M Sport steering wheel. M Sport wheel is not available.

I saw an Alpine White X5 50i with M Sport and the White Nappa today. This is a dealership allocation and not pre-sold. They told me they were concerned that the white seats may keep it on the lot longer than what they want. It did look nice. We are clean folks who keep immaculate care of our cars but the white IMHO is just asking for troubles that a darker color would hide better. YMMV.

I think it is stupid to even offer a white leather color...no one wants it except a very small handful of people.... We have TAN on our current X5 and it's a pain to keep it clean. Swapped to Terra on the new one...

It's not really white. It's more like light beige. It looks really nice but it might be painful to keep it clean. If you are leasing for few years, I think it's ok. Not sure how it will look after 5-6 years. I went with mocha and I already spilled coffee on the seat within a week of ownership..

1) color combination is subjective. Go with what you like. I have not seen anyone with white on white on this forum but I could be wrong. I went with black/mocha combo. Again I haven't seen too many with that combo either but I love it.
2) no
3) don't wait. This truck is so much fun to drive..

I had an e70 with Oyster leather seats...never had a problem. I did the dealership protection package for the seats as well, but never any issues. I think you would definitely not want to spill anything. At the same time, do you wear jeans a lot? Do you have kids who can't keep their shoes off the seats?

I would also check out atomic80's thread on his X5 delivery. He mentioned Opticoat for leather protection (http://www.opti-coat.net/content/53/...r_coating.html).

Never had a problem with light leather interiors. It just requires a little bit of maintenance and some good product. I use the Leatherique system and have had wonderful results over the years.

There you have it, two owners weighed in on the light colors positively. If you like it...get it!

I don't its worth to keep 2k on this, instead if you add 2k you will get the M-sport package.

Where are from "ictx5" ? I don't think our dealers here will have white on white.

I thought most of the people like light colors as they look more classy for the premium vehicles. Thats just my thought ..

Yes, I wear jeans most of the time. does that matter?

This is going to be my family car which is my first BMW and the reason I am getting is because of the expansion of the family.

I liked the interior right from the first time I configured it online. Just wanted to see if I can find it in photos or real life.

My brother had an X3 with Black and black. So black is out of my mind as I had seen for 4 years now.
