Summer tire sizes - 275/295 or 285/305?

When I get new summer wheels this year I will need new summer tires also. I was planning on getting some 19x10 F and 19x11 R or similar wheels probably Forgestar Superdeep concaves.

Looking at tire sizes. I want to keep close to stock ratios if possible.

I had thought 275 F 295 R would be ideal, however after checking the calculator I see 285 F and 305 R is closer to diameter size.

Is this setup even possible? I haven't seen many people run it, likely because 285/30s are hard to find or is it because they will rub? Is it even feasible?

275's are the maximum in the front. 305's are possible in the rear. Correct offsets will be key for the success of any of your planned sizes.

Ok thank you for the reply.

If I get 275/295 what width wheels would I need and what offsets if you know?

What suspension are you running now and/or plan to run in the future? Specifically, are you running KW?

No just stock ZCP suspension and I don't plan to modify it.

to fit 275/295 an offset around +22 is ideal on a 9.5/10.5 wheel stagger, and im not sure about on 19s but on 18s 285/305 is totally doable, and why not have more tire if you can :-P

19x10 and 19x11 with 275/295 tires and your suspension I would go with 19x10 et25 and 19x11 et30. If you think you may upgrade to KW coilovers and/or you are going to run around -2 degrees of camber in the front, then I would switch the front offset to et17.

22mm offset on a 9.5" wheel with 275's in the front will work with any suspension except for KW. KW's will require between et 19 and 17mm depending on the tire.

22mm offset on a 10.5" wheel with 295's in the rear will rub on the metal fender and camber can not fix the problem... Unless you are lucky and/or run a tire brand that runs narrower than most. 25 mm offset in the rear is the ticket to fit 295's without rubbing on 10.5's. I have tested both offsets with Yokohama AD08 tires. 295's fit with et25 and negative camber. I couldn't get the et22 to stop rubbing on big dips (rub was minor but it hits the painted part of the metal fender).

My rears only rubbed on the fender liner which didnt bother me and i was running pirelli pzeros which are a pretty square tire and i was pretty low on 19 inch volks that were +22, so if hes stock height i wouldnt worry, but it is a tight fit

Ok to summarize: 275/295 19s

9.5/10.5 or 10/11 will work. Is one preferred over the other?

10/11: Et 25 front and et 30 rear. If you add camber you need et17 front. (Will et17 fit without camber? On the same vein - how hard is it to get to -2 camber and can most shops do it?)

9.5/10.5: et22 front and et25 rear

Should fit most tires.

That was not related to camber, that was related to lowering on KW's since they come into connect with something in the inside if the offset isn't +17 or more aggressive aka +15 etc..

The camber would then have to be something like -2.0 otherwise your tire would rub on the fender. - depending on your style of driving, you will notice your tires wear quicker but if you're not being a bone headed fool then not a whole lot quicker!

Oh don't get me wrong I love camber. I run about -3 F and -1.5 R on my STI with 0 toe and if you do it right theres no increased wear.

I'm not going to change the suspension in this car so I'd like something I can fit now and also that will fit when/if I do a camber alignment for more cambers. I have my STI for a car with a stiff suspension I don't need another :P

Excellent.

Can I run 19x9.5 and 19x11 with the stock tires as well? I think I'd like to finish out the use on my stock Contis and put off replacing them for a year or so if possible. Will this offset work?
