Summer tire sizes - 275/295 or 285/305?
When I get new summer wheels this year I will need new summer tires also. I was planning on getting some 19x10 F and 19x11 R or similar wheels probably Forgestar Superdeep concaves.
Looking at tire sizes. I want to keep close to stock ratios if possible. I had thought 275 F 295 R would be ideal, however after checking the calculator I see 285 F and 305 R is closer to diameter size. Is this setup even possible? I haven't seen many people run it, likely because 285/30s are hard to find or is it because they will rub? Is it even feasible? |

275's are the maximum in the front. 305's are possible in the rear. Correct offsets will be key for the success of any of your planned sizes.

to fit 275/295 an offset around +22 is ideal on a 9.5/10.5 wheel stagger, and im not sure about on 19s but on 18s 285/305 is totally doable, and why not have more tire if you can :-P

22mm offset on a 10.5" wheel with 295's in the rear will rub on the metal fender and camber can not fix the problem... Unless you are lucky and/or run a tire brand that runs narrower than most. 25 mm offset in the rear is the ticket to fit 295's without rubbing on 10.5's. I have tested both offsets with Yokohama AD08 tires. 295's fit with et25 and negative camber. I couldn't get the et22 to stop rubbing on big dips (rub was minor but it hits the painted part of the metal fender).

Ok to summarize: 275/295 19s
9.5/10.5 or 10/11 will work. Is one preferred over the other? 10/11: Et 25 front and et 30 rear. If you add camber you need et17 front. (Will et17 fit without camber? On the same vein - how hard is it to get to -2 camber and can most shops do it?) 9.5/10.5: et22 front and et25 rear Should fit most tires. |

The camber would then have to be something like -2.0 otherwise your tire would rub on the fender. - depending on your style of driving, you will notice your tires wear quicker but if you're not being a bone headed fool then not a whole lot quicker! |

I'm not going to change the suspension in this car so I'd like something I can fit now and also that will fit when/if I do a camber alignment for more cambers. I have my STI for a car with a stiff suspension I don't need another :P |

Can I run 19x9.5 and 19x11 with the stock tires as well? I think I'd like to finish out the use on my stock Contis and put off replacing them for a year or so if possible. Will this offset work? |
