Dealer Fees Question
What's a MACO and Training/Service Fee? I saw this on my dealer printout and didn't know if they were legit fees or something I can negotiate. Thanks!

They are legit. MACO is an advertising fee that all dealers pass on to customers and the Training and Service Fee is also passed on. I'm not aware of anyone being able to avoid those. Sorry.

I suspect it will vary depending on dealership, but mine was:
MACO: $380 Training/Service fee: $180 There's also Doc fees (http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/wh...d-you-pay.html). Scroll to the bottom to see your state Doc fee limits. And these are just dealer fees. There are also government fees (Reg, title, tax, etc), bank fee (acquisition fee), and BMW fee (Destination and Handling fee). Of course some of this only applies if you're leasing. There are also GAP insurance, Security Deposit....geez. Didn't realize there were so many. Z. For those of you who leased the X5, aside from MACO, training fee, tax, reg, doc fees, title fee, security deposit, acquisition fee, and destination charge, are there any other fees that I'm missing that's not optional? Just don't want to be surprised when I go pick up the car.
