good dealer in the tristate area for good "communication"
It could be a little rant,
but I've been to many BMW dealers and thought I have found a proper dealer (Prestige in Ramsey), but jesus christ they are the hardest dealer to reach service advisors. This is from about 1.5yr year experience with them I generally trust their service and all, they deal with many M cars and it is also Dinan auth dealer, they pretty much know what they are doing. But wow, I have to call at least 5 times and leave 4 messages to actually talk with a human being. It is a busy dealer I know, but why is it so hard to talk with a service advisor? This is how it usually goes with that dealer. 1. I call in the morning, I call in the afternoon 2. After speaking with service cashier desk lady 5 times and leaving 4 messages to all different advisors, I finally get a call about reservation for service. (Yes I've done online reservation many times. ALL of those times, the dealer calls me to confirm every single thing I wrote. I might as well jus call in and make reservation that way...) 3. My service advisor "A" listens to all my issues with the vehicle the next morning, and takes the car 4. "A" says car will be ready on Wednesday on the phone at 5:56PM 5. When I call 5:59PM, no one's there to answer, they are all gone because service desk "closes" and most advisors leave at 6 6. The next morning I call another 5 times and the dept says my advisor "A" is off today. WTF? 7. I call another 5 times and finally talk with another advisor "B", says to pick up the car 8. I go pick up the car, obviously "B" is never aware of my car's condition, and of course the work is never complete, they always forgot something I'm sick of this... I used to go to other BMW dealers and their communcation was so much easier, it's just that their service sucked... (they don't know what they are doing...and I can tell easily) Can someone recommend me a dealer I can COMMUNICATE and can do good SERVICE? thanks,

Sounds rough. Don't know about NJ much, I've heard Park Ave. and Flemington BMW are good places from other owners. Even on Dealerrater.com, the service reviews are pretty horrible for Prestige.

I have had decent luck with JMK in Springfield. I generally call after nine to let the morning rush die down and once in a while I may need to call back before noon. But they do a good job and Tino the service manager is responsive

Same issue with Prestige BMW, I keep on escalating to Service Manager. My current situation is the last time I am dealing with them, from now on it's either Tenafly or Bloomfield, both are better.

Trust me, I grew up in Tenafly and live 7 minutes from that dealer. I bought my car there but never go in for service ever.

Park Ave is a bit "busy" environment in service, something I also observed from Park Ave Acura when I had an Acura

Can't compare as I've never had a personal experience with Tenafly (have also heard horror stories from there). Park Ave Service will never get any of my business again nor as many of my customers as I can convert as well.

Sorry about your troubles. I recently had a good experience at Prestige BMW. Walked in for a mid cycle oil change. It was a slow Monday, and they took the car in and out just over an hour and got me outta there. They didn't wash my car as requested and only put 2 miles on my car. That's just unheard of. I usually go to Flemington, but it's so far for me. This was my 3rd visit to Prestige Service Dept. They haven't let me down yet. I avoid Tenafly and Park Ave.

I use Open Road, phone calls are returned, I am always notified of what is going on, my SA is nice, and friendly and helps me anyway I need everytime I am there. Only once did they overfill my oil and I had to bring it back. I am in and out quickly.

I've been with Prestige for 6 years. At certain levels the service is awful. There's a certain SA that needs to be fired pronto - the worst experience I've ever had dealing with anyone remotely related to the car business. I called the manager and told him the same.
At the end of this lease will not be returning. Hey BMW HQ - isn't this the largest BMW dealership in the country? You really need an intervention here. It sucks. |

[QUOTE=Sal@AUTOcouture;14799635]Sales- Park Ave or Paul Miller
Service- Paul Miller or Prestige. Park Ave service is the worst IMO. PM me if you need some contacts [/QUOTE Park ave, worst dealer ever. Am on the market for an m3, Walked around for like 20 min and no one offered any assistance. The funny thing is that none of the sa were busy, i was the only custumer inside that dealership. Thank you park avenue, thank you for ignoring my business i guess minorities cant afford a bmw. Lmao Last edited by Lito335; 11-04-2013 at 06:44 PM.. Reason: None |

I have used Paul Miller for that past 8 years for service on all of my M cars. Excellent service and communication, especially from Ken, my SA. They always have a loaner available for me.
