BPMSport Tuned & Coded

Background
2011 E90 LCI ZCP 6MT. No Engine/Exhaust Mods. I purchased Evolve-R and had Evolve’s tuned 231E file for approximately 1 year.

I approached Mike Benvo via PM due to my interest for the Servotronic Tune and the 6MT Launch Control, and I wanted to Code my car to Enable/Disable some features. Order was placed and I was shipped a pair of cables, a Gen I and a Gen II cable. After arranging a time (I live in HK and Mike’s in Cali) we had a remote connection setup and were ready to Code & Tune.

1st problem we encountered, was that the Gen II Cable didn’t give out a proper Voltage read (Mike said that it only happens to oversea customers, and that I needed to refresh the solder on 8 tabs). This meant we could only conduct coding for the time being.

Coding
The Gen I cable was used for Coding, and Mike went through a checklist of functions, and patiently asked me whether I wanted to have a particular function Enabled or Disabled.
Noteworthy ones
ASS Memory Function – Auto Start Stop is now a MEMORY button and recalls Last Selection. ASS is a dumb feature on an MT car, especially when it turns off the air-con, in Hong Kong.
Comfort Access Auto-Folding Mirrors – Euro cars have folding mirrors, but why don’t they auto-fold when you lock the car?

Tuning
I bought a soldering iron after a few days and with Mike’s help, I refreshed them solders and viola! 12+ Volts Reading! My Choices were 8600rpm Redline, No Top Speed Limiter, Lower Cold Start, and 6MT Launch Control at 3500rpm. Servotronic Tune is a part of the Performance Tune.

Results
Coding made the car easier to live with as a daily driver, and I’ve forgotten that the ASS was ever there. Tuning has made power delivery smoother. The car just pulls and pulls in such a linear manner. The Servotronic Steering Tune is something that you can feel right away. The steering feel is better than ever. Free Play of the steering wheel is lowered in Normal driving (I don’t drive in Sport, even in M Mode). 6MT Launch Control is a BLAST! Gun it Flanders!

I would like to give a BIG thanks to Mike Benvo. He did not only make my car better to drive and live with, but he was willing to answer a lot of questions I had, solved a bunch of my curiosity bugs I had about my car and life in general.

Thanks for Reading!

Sunny

Cool, got pics? I just had Mike do the works to my car, tune/DCT/coding the euro MDM seems to be real good, I haven't even messed with half the stuff that was done yet.
