Loss of power and louder engine note
So I apologize if this is not the correct section to be asking in about this - I tried using the search function with a bunch of my symptoms but I had no real luck on finding anything too similar. So anyway...
A day or so ago I noticed that my car (2010 135i, just crossed over the 43k mile mark today) was suddenly much, much louder - but it doesn't seem to be any change on the exhaust side (I went and listened to the exhaust tone and that seems to be the same as before, just not as "smooth"). It almost sound as if the source of the sound is coming from around the front side of the car, close to where the driver's feet are located. The second part of this issue is that it feels like suddenly I have lost a lot of my torque - I no longer get that silly amount of acceleration around 2k RPM and it overall seems like the engine is trying really, really hard to get me up to speed. There car is still completely stock, though I've been looking at mods over the last few weeks for later this summer. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I understand that some of the more common issues with the n54 are the HPFP (which the car had replaced under the previous owner), as well as the wastegates. I definitely want to get it to a dealer as soon as possible, but I'm flying out of the country for two weeks this Sunday, pretty much right after my college graduation, and will not be back for two weeks. If anyone could share some insight, it would be greatly appreciated. If I at least have an idea of what's going on it'll save me a lot of headache and stress while I'm out on vacation. Thank you very much, -Av3lon |

Not sure if this make a difference, but I forgot to mention that the car has yet to throw out any sort of limp mode or power loss code. No CEL at all right now.
