Horrible experience at Saybrook ford CT
My first mistake was buying my M3 at a ford dealer , shame on me... So after being on the market for 3 weeks I found an 09 e93 m3 with 19k miles, I drove 2 1/2 hours and bought the vehicle, at first everyone was great, kissing ass like you wouldn't believe, but after the sale is when true colors showed. When I picked up the vehicle the tpl was on so I brought it to my salesman Maneck attention " oh most likely needs air" air was added and tire light still on, so I went on my way under the assumption I would have BMW look at it, so a few days later I call my salesman to get approval to bring my car to the dealer to address the tpl issue " ill call you right back" 3 weeks later, many voicemails later and he kept giving me the run around, I finally got fed up and called the gm Doug. Doug was quick and offered to help and he did. Approved the repairs and the tpl was fixed. About a week later driving on 95 my tpl and low tire light came on, I say to myself " I have runflats ill be ok for a few miles" pop!!! my tire blows out, i pull over call a tow truck and get my car towed to the closest place come to find out regular tires were installed not runflats, not only that the rear tires are between 2-3 32nds not what I expected on a vehicle I just spent 43,000 on... I immediately called Doug and explained what was going on , Doug did some research and called me back the next day and said basically I was shit out of luck, his tech said the tires were at "6 32nds" and that they are not required to install run flats... That would've been nice to know upon me buying the vehicle!!! Knowing full well the vehicle had no spare they put regular tires on and didn't tell me , they are still refusing to help me, take responsibility and have been rude via email. So to all my fellow members here make sure never to visit this dealership for anything as they have horrible customer service, lie and will not own up when they are wrong ..attached is a pic of my rear tire 3 weeks after purchase, right down to the wear bar .

I'm confused from the get-go because M3's do not have run flats.
Do you know what kind of tires were on the car when you purchased it? Sorry to hear of the tough luck man.

I was under the assumption they came with runflats thats why no spare, and when the tpl came on the display mentioned something about runflats and the distance I could travel Hense to me thinking it had run flats... It has Nankangs NS 2's ... Well regardless weather it comes with runflats or not I should not have rear tires down to the wear bars

You have to check everything when you are buying a used car, you can't just assume the dealer checked/covered everything. |

no runflats on the m3. This has been widely discussed on this forum. They have the mobility kit but it is not a good solution. Best bet is purchasing a space saver spare from one of the vendors and leave it in your trunk. As i live in NY i carry it around all the time because the roads are awful. Other people may not feel the need to carry it around all the time, however for the space it takes up in the trunk and the $200 in cost, it is worth the peace of mind for me.

You should have checked a number of things right off the bat. Remember it was a used M3 so it will not be perfect. Did you buy a warranty with it? Sorry to hear about that bro. |

IMO, when you buy a used car you need to expect the possibility new tires will be needed. You have no idea how the tires were treated or if they are even the original tires.
In addition, trusting any dealer/salesman to tell the truth is like trusting a politician or preacher. There is one sure way to know when these three type of people are lying to you. They will be smiling! |

The iDrive message when you have a TPMS warning is annoying, it does make it seem like the car has run flats installed. I let my father-in-law drive my car at a wedding I went to (my wife and i rode in the limo) and he had a low tire pressure warning come on. He interpreted the warning to say the car had run flats installed. Nothing happened, but it is confusing.
