crappy headlights?

hey guys,

I have a 2008 135i...i've had it for around 6 months. I drive often in rural areas at night, and the regular headlights are pretty awful for xenons. How are they for other people? Could there be something wrong with them? any way to upgrade?

Yeah maybe they're just too low.

I just can't see more than twenty feet in front of the car. My previous cars with xenons bathe the road in light.

Gotta be an adjustment issue. Mine are some of the best headlights I've experienced next to my pop's SL55.

I'm having the same issue... what's the fix if the headlights are too low?

There are write ups on how to do this. The 135i headlights are adjusted by an allen fitting on the top of the headlight housing. I usually park on a street and do one headlight at a time. Try to block one and then aim the other so that the lower line of the beam pattern is just under where you think the eyes of oncoming drivers would be. Then just match the other headlight beam pattern to that height. IMO the 135i headlights are pretty awesome. It's my first bi-xenon setup and I love it.

Compared to other cars I've had and my 370z, I have to agree with the op. These are the worst HID headlights I've had in any of my cars. Even after adjusting the lights up, its still not up to my personal standards. I will say that a pair of CBI's from retrofitsource.com will help out tremendously

I agree. Between my wife's Ford Edge and my old 350 and 370z's, the 135's xenon output is subpar. Aiming will only do so much if the output is less than what's desired.
