Retirement News

No, I'm not retiring from Z4 trips! I just wanted to let faithful readers of my trip reports know that I'll be retiring from my job at the end of January--which should mean lots more time for future tours in the BMW!

More on the story is available in this New York Times article.

You, sir, have been in some battles for sure!

Congrats on the upcoming retirement! Hopefully, it was on your terms, not theirs. And congrats on ruffling some feathers up on the Hill.

Looking forward to more of your tours!

Great piece Rick. I admire someone who fights for what is right especially when its not the easy path...I can relate!

Enjoy retirement!

Wow!

I'll echo Bosstones post too which was well said. Or, as my wife said "ah, ruffled a few feathers, must be doing something right." And "congratulations on your release from the government--more driving!"

Thank you for all the years of honest service!

Congrats on your retirement! It looks like it was on your terms, hopefully that's a correct assumption:
Congress bolstered the actuary’s independence in a 1997 law stipulating that the holder of the job can be removed from office “only for cause.”
Although I've been unofficially "retired" for the last 12 years, I filed for my Social Security benefits in August, the required three months prior to my 62nd birthday in November. Checks start arriving in January!

I'm looking forward to many more, and more frequent, trip reports!

Loved the article Rick. How neat (and congratulations). So many politicians just don't seem to be able to grasp either numbers or ethics. An ethical actuary had to be the perfect frustration.

Wow.

You get a New York Time article on your life for retirement.

I'll get a cake from the local supermarket.

Wow, congrats on your retirement. I hope you'll continue to offer perspective and candid opinions to our lawmakers and bureaucrats.

I'm a physician who provides care to Medicare patients, but I'll have to drop it soon due to the difficulty with reimbursement.
