No offense but four years is a long time for a forum.

Members have come and gone, cars are cheaper now, so more people are able to purchase them.

Do you mean chronological age or mental age?

Methinks that if i divided my chronological age by my mental age it would be a big number!

I do recall an 18 year old a few years ago running around the forum.

Huh. So over 96% of the members are 25 years of age or older. Never would have guessed.

Of course, that can change as the results from those aged 15-24 continue to pour in.

When I was 12, my wonderful Dad took me out to a wide straight deserted dirt road, showed me how three-on-the-tree worked, pointed to the clutch/brake/gas, gave me the keys to the van and smiled and said "have fun!". I took it slowly, of course and went up and down the road a few times before I tried shifting into 2nd. But I figured it out. He knew I would. He was a wise and gentle man who gave me a great gift that day.

I saw the "15" which seemed a bit young nowadays and thought of that story with a smile.

Older = more disposable income = more toys.

31 (27 at purchase). The significant absence in the 35-44 range is interesting. Family folks who don't want an impractical vehicle?

That is my guess.

My wife and I are not having kids for another 5 years or so.

Younger guys with no families helps with the purchase decision for the younger crowd too.

I would expect the guys in their 20s and then 55+ to be the most likely owners.

22 Here.

Found a car that was the right price, at the wrong time. Dad offered to help fund the payments and I'd pay him back. Decided to ditch my E46 then as well

Year and a half later from purchase I'm proud to say I'm only a couple grand away from being paid off. Come tax return time the title will be under my name
