Burn the boats!

After flirting with moving to a P-car, this spring I committed to the M Coupe.

Then the urge to get out to the track with a basic set-up. I ended up going a bit beyond.

- KW Clubports with 500/600lbs --> this is now soft
- 18" Apex w RS3
- Euro Headers w/relocated O2's
- Brembo GT on all four corners
- Pagid RS29's - got the wrong front pads so i did not run these
- Sparco Ring Wheel with NRG low profile QR hub
- Recaro Pole's
- AS SSK

But with that said I was out at Laguna for the first time ever and met super cool fellow zpost member aestheticstorm, who put up a good fight on street tires (he just posted pics below).

What a track Laguna is.

Mileage

Interior

Now I'm searching for the next track event, could be Infineon on Nov 17th and then maybe back to Laguna before the year is out!

Cool! First time at Laguna (I'm guessing not).

I'll be there on Dec 23 along with a bunch of the guys (and gals) from here.

Nice set up too for the car!

I still have those side skirts too. And it looks like we might get some snow this year!

Awesome build, congratulations on your Laguna day! The PPs look amazing, especially with the carbon leather interior, the bbks look super classy.

Only thing I'd add is a wing and black out the mufflers

If you get a chance to run at Spring Mountain in Pahrump NV, go for it. I've done a couple of HPDE's there (though neither in my M, sadly), and it's an AWESOME venue.

I share the same sentiments. Had to move back to TO after a stint in the Bay Area (work visa expired). Miss that place lots and would love to move back if the opportunity presents itself.

How did you move down there, if you don't mind me asking?

Nice setup btw. Love the Brembos.

Palm brought me down 7 years ago. Looking back less and less every year.

I could possibly ski on Friday, track on Saturday, and surf on Sunday (have not done this yet). How crazy is that?

Nice pics! Funny, I've been toying with putting back the stock antenna and despite your car having serious mods, you kept the factory antenna and it doesn't look half bad. Maybe I'll throw her back on mine as well too.

Btw - on your PP's, do you find the lap belt to be tight enough during braking zones? I used to clip in the same way as you, over the seat but I didn't like how the lap belt wasn't tight enough. I then bought a belt receptacle extender and snaked it through the side hole, much tighter now.

I have an antenna? Doh! it never really bothered me.

I tried looping it through and it dug into my sides. I find I can lock myself in pretty good with this set-up.

One problem i do have with the seats is that as a shorter driver i'm sitting very close to the steering wheel and am having shifter ergonomics issues i.e. being able to pull back to 2nd and 4th comfortably. I have an awkward motion with the stock shift knob so I may have to use my short ZHP knob.

Me neither. A local buddy gave me his old stubby antenna but I never really had a urge to swap 'em out. I kinda like how the long OE antenna makes the car look like it's a radio-controlled toy

I had that problem as well where shifting to 4th would pinch my shoulder blade. I found tilting the front part of the seat upwards has a lot of benefits. For one your core does less work in trying to support your lower back so your lumbar isn't as sore, two it allows my torso to be slightly angled back giving me more headroom for my helmet and makes the shifts a little easier.

DSC - I think you're right. I'm going to have to fiddle with that setting. I also think that I will get some pedals to facilitate I hope better control and allow me to slide my seat back just a bit more.

You forgot to mention the cool Sepang Bronze friend you met

Seriously though, after EMP07 destroyed me on my stock-everything, I see some mods in my future
