tinting rear brake lights???
Has anyone here done it? or are most people shelling out the $$$ and just getting darkline LCI's?
I don't know if this stuff is any good or not; http://www.rvinyl.com/2009-BMW-135i-...l#.UICqoNh-QsI |

I've done it to mine (black tint spray however), after it was done i'd give it a 9/10.. downraded to maybe 7.5/10 from misc damage to the coat since lol.
my recommendation would be to get a professional to spray it (a mix of colour+clear i believe does the trick) unless you want a temporary removable solution. however, for the $40 odd it cost me, no regrets.. well except for the clear coat getting some bird crap on it and me stupidly scratching it off instead of wetting/wiping - it looks perfect unless you get up rather close, and then a lot of it is acidic things eating away at the clear or stone chips etc.. for thse reasons alone i'll be getting a set of black tail lights off ebay (OE manufacturer but not OEM) and will ge them professionally tinted in the future) i used VHT however, and they're completely black unless a light is shining on them, perfectly visible parker/brake lights though. no police hassle either, been followed/pulled over a couple of times for totally unrelated reasons.. most even commented the liked it .. ymmv on that though. the tint film you posted - from googling when i did mine, the films don't always last a very long time - external and prone to scratching, however, if you do it right (no bubbling, full coverage) it should look awesome OTOH, E82 darkline LCI tails look amazing. |
