See my "garage" for pics of my wife's 2011 128i M-Sport Cabrio with 18" staggered Alufelgen CSL wheels, BMW Performance Exhaust, blacked-out "128i" on rear trunklid, stub antenna, and colored roundels.

When I get the chance to put up photos I will. I'm in the process of modding it. Visually, so far I only have the black wheels and some eBay carbon fiber rear diffuser, but I'm waiting on my gloss black trunk emblem, BMW Performance carbon fiber rear spoiler, BMW Performance carbon fiber mirror covers and BMW Performance kidney grills to arrive. Also getting the BMW performance brakes. I couldn't get past the factory painted phoenix yellow . Yes, I know the calipers are exactly the same, but I figured I'd get the BMW Performance rotors with them, do the install myself and then on-sell my current brakes. |

My CF mirror caps just arrived today. Installation wasn't too hard. I'd post pics but I don't want to post up iPhone pics haha. Doesn't do it justice and I don't have a decent camera =(. Gotta wait for my photographer friend to come back from overseas to get some shots done. I'm going the black/white theme hard! Even got my windows tinted last week. It's starting to look real 'mean'!

Loving the tint. I went for the black 'carbon' tint though. The coloured or reflective ones look a bit aftermarket for my tastes. |

I got them from an eBay store called OceanBMW for about AUD$570 including shipping. Cheapest I could find... US online stores like Turnersports sell them for $298/cap I think.

I've seen videos where they pull out the whole mirror etc etc but it's much simpler than that. You take 2 'grippy' hands on the back of the stock mirror caps. If your hands are a bit sweaty maybe wear gloves for extra grip. Then pull evenly until it comes off. Don't need to be afraid of breaking it. It will make strange creaky/clicky noises that sounds like plastic breaking but when you pull it off and have a look at the clips you'll understand why. Once it's off, just line up the clips and edges and push it in until it clicks all the way in and sits nicely. I'll try to put up a DIY on the DIY section of the forums maybe after the weekend. I'm going away for the weekend and didn't bring the stock caps with me to take pictures of.

I think the M3 strut brace made a very large inprovement...there is much more stiffness in the front end and cowl shake is gone...although it is expensive, I think the M3 strut bar is one of the best investments you can make. I don't have any other suspension mods as I think the car already handles like a go kart and for me, is low enough as it barely clears the parking curbs as it is. ...but I do think the suspension is too "nervous" and will probably go with Koni FSD shocks and strut cartridges in the near future. |
