For those with the ESS tune... help!

Hey guys,

So I'm flashing back to stock to take it in to the dealer tomorrow for brake service. I clicked 'program ECU memory' and tried to select my stock file, but that doesn't seem to work as the stock file isn't a .mod file.

I was wondering if 'Recover ECU memory' is the option I should be selecting?

Thanks for the help!

Do you have E-flash or Directflash? If it is direct flash (the one I have) make sure you have not erased the stock file from the device.

If you are using E-flash you use the Recover option to load your stock file.

Yes E-flash is the cable that connects PC to the vehicle OBD.

Paranoia? Lol

Rather be safe than sorry, don't want any headaches. Takes like 5 minutes... love ESS.

yeah, if the tune won't do it, the catless pipes will. The dealer can tell something is up.

Well I figured as much, so if they check the car for a tune they would turn up empty handed lol. A catless x pipe is probably much less of a potential headache than software.

Totally pointless to go back to stock.

Waste of your time, I promise

Going back to stock doesn't change freezeframe data of max rpm/speed achieved.
