are our cars at risk of the slim jim?
I was doing a window regulator replacement on my car and realized that it seems very easy to possibly slim jim the lock mechanism...

Probably not, but don't see the point neither. I'd imagine any thief would probably just bash the windows to grab anything inside, much quicker if you ask me. They should know they're not going to be able to drive away with the car due to the immobilizer unless they have your key.

Twice in my life I've had stereos stolen.
Both were pretty cheap. From my old ricers, not the Bimmer. First time I left my car unlocked. Replaced for $150. Second time had the car locked. Thief smashed the driver side window out and got the $100 stereo. Cost $300 to get the window replaced. I should have left the doors unlocked. |

My coupe was broken in to 3 weeks ago - they stole a cheap aux cable (it was lying in the front seat, no ipod or anything attached), the mobility kit, and a tire pressure gauge. Did $2K in damage in the process

I used to have a Mazdaspeed Miata (300Hp at thew wheels, ah such a fun car) and it got broken into at the JFK Long Term parking lot. They stole some quarters and a 1/16 socket and ratchet. The cop told me... Next time leave the car Open... WTF? LMAO cost me about 300 to fix the broken glovebox latch they totally f'ed up
