Wings on a z4 roadster
like those VARIS wings/GT-spoiler. it looked awesome on the z4coupe. Ive not seen many roadsters put wings before except the s2k.
was wondering any z4roadster owner here has done it before? care to share a picture on how it looks like? thought of taking the plunge myself |

I saw one just last night on a lovely pre-facelift red Z4. The car had very nice after market rims too, although I could not say what they were specifically, as the car was driving at the time. All together, it looked extremely nice.

Star - I spoke with Alpina Calf who e-mailed Germany who states that the spoiler will not fit a M. Looking at the pictures it sure looks like it should. But $1100 bet I am not willing to take.
You ever get a hold of one let me know, that is one spoiler that does look cool on the car.

Are you saying the M is not wider than the standard Z4?
Quote: Richard, The following is the email I received this morning from Alpina. Once again, the same answer from Alpina. I don't know what else I can tell you. Regards, Susan ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good Morning Susan, Many thanks for your mail. The rear spoiler does not fit on the M Z4 E85. The correct oil temperature sensor (12x1,5) for the B10 Bi-Turbo for the engine is 62 10 037. You also need the small parts 61 10 083, 61 10 084 and 2x 61 10 085. The other sensor (22x1,5) is for the rear axle. Both sensors are available... Hope this will help. You have a nice weekend, too! All the best, Christopher Christopher M. Kratzer, Export - End Quote. Direct from Germany.

Correct.... no difference.
You can confirm this by looking up the part #s on RealOEM.

These are the Hamann and AC Schnitzer spoilers. I actually think they both look pretty cool. I'd probably go with the AC Schnitzer one b/c it's looks a bit nicer and it doesn't require drilling into the rear bumper like the Hamann one does if I remember correctly. Might get it in the future, who knows!

Last time I did a search there is a generic that looks just like the ACS for around $300, but the real thing is also close to $1000.

The only wing I've seen and liked was the MS design wing:
http://www.ms-design.com/produkte/si...ke/bmw-z4.html No idea what it costs or if it's still available. |

That is a good looking wing, I have never seen it before in any online searches over here.

Actually on bavauto.com the legit ACS wing is going for $674.95, which I agree is still pricey but certainley do-able. That MS wing is kinda nice! Wonder if it's still available and for how much?

For me the wing would have to have the same shape as the trunk, just as a floating wing above it. My biggest issue with most wings is that they get rid of the great duck shape that we all know and love.

I think the roadster looks best with no wing. It already has a beautiful ducktail trunk, and really looks good left alone IMO

I have to agree with both of you and yet the wing is intriguing.
Good thing I spent all this years BMW Bonus bucks. Between the mustashe, paint job, aero panels, new wheels, new tires, CF Bling I don't dare tell boss I want anything else for a while.
