Anyone know if there have been any Java Green E89's built to this date? I know it is an individual order, but still interested to know. If so, any pics available?

BMW does not offer "Individual" styles for the E89. Well maybe if you offered them a pile of cash in the $8-10K range on top of MSRP. I'd rather just save up for a 458 Spyder where you pretty much individualize your build - although it'd still be red.

I was considering an Atacama Yellow last week (until I saw it was a lame automatic) and the build decal in the door frame said it was an "Individual Program" car. It had some pretty unique items on it that I have not seen on any other E89.

Such as a price tag that only a mother could love? I can't believe the prices we have to pay here for the "BMW Individual" options...

This one had an all black leather interior, the seats were black but with yellow piping around the boarders. The dash was also leather covered, not the usual plastic. There were some other things but thats all I recall at the moment.

B21 Atacama Yellow is available to order in the US but only as part of the Pure Impulse design package. Pure Impulse includes items from BMW Individual.
Currently there are two design packages for the Z4, Pure Balance and Pure Impulse. In the US Individual paints are available at the whim of BMW NA. Sometimes they will say yes but most times they say no. Last edited by Andrew*Debbie; 05-17-2012 at 02:51 PM.. |

That's the standard Atacama Yellow interior package. It's actually Alcantara, not leather.

Hmmm. Didnt know that. Thanks for the info. Kind of odd (IMO) that they don't offer the individual color option in the E89, especially since it is a pricey little 2-seater. Would love to have a Java Green E89 with a 6spd manual, 3D Design kit and slammed on some black wheels. |

If you have the money and you can find a the right salesperson, and they catch someone at BMW NA on the right day when the wind is blowing in just the right direction, then maybe just maybe. |

Again, what I saw had an all black (no yellow trim) leather (I know what alcantra is and I know what leather is, this was solid leather) interior, the seats were black but with yellow piping (not yellow flecks in the center, piping) around the boarders. The dash was also leather covered (solid real leather, no yellow alcantra trim), not the usual plastic. The window sticker even said 'Individual Extended Leather Package'. Other then the seat piping, there was no yellow anywhere in that interior. |

For fun I tried Google. I found the color on M3s and on an Audi R8.
In the UK we can order Audi Exclusive paint. It is on the website. Javagrün Metallic is £1,735. They offer Exclusive paint even on a Base A3 with the 1.2L engine! BMW Individual has an iPad app --> http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bmw-individual/id464751703?mt=8 Last edited by Andrew*Debbie; 05-17-2012 at 03:13 PM.. |

I loved that when I ordered my Porsche a few years back. They had the list of all available colors and at the bottom was a box with a question mark. When I inquired as to what that was, I was told that it was for any color you desire. You could give them any company's paint code and they would paint your car exactly that. What a wonderful concept!!! Of course, it was a $5K option.

I knew the individual option (color wise) was a pricey option, but didnt realize that it, for the most part wasn't available here in the US. I remember seeing the Atlantis Blue M3 and figured that ordering the color you wanted was available to us here in the US. I was going to purchase a new M5 and wanted to do Atlantis Blue, but decided to order an F30 M Sport sedan.
A Java Green Z would be a nice edition. Oh well. |

Dashboard in leather is the extended leather, have it on my 2010. Insanely expensive but today I'm glad I choose it. But I must say the leather on the E89 seats are not as good as the 1999 E36. E89 1 scratch, E36 no scratch and wich one do you think I been more careful with? Seems the leather nowadays are much thinner.

I'll ask them who knicked it? I want it back! Warrantys gone.....I mean.....How, HOW can it be possible to program a E89 ecu with an RR ecu at a place where they don't even sell RR?
Now they surely need the car for another 5 days.........and it's SUNNY!!!! Anyone got the faintest idea? |
