OEM Carbon fiber weave qualms

Hi guys,
I have been debating for a long time about whether or not I should get the OEM carbon fiber mirror caps, rear spoiler, and front "lip" pieces. But I'm pretty anal about things like the weaves matching, and I'm not sure if I would be too happy with 1x1 weave on the roof and 2x2 weave everywhere else.

For the people with these parts, is the mismatch really noticeable or not? Should I go for an aftermarket solution instead (although I haven't really seen a good 1x1 weave aftermarket performance spoiler)?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Honestly, I don't think it's noticeable at all. All the parts are so far apart that it isn't an issue.

I wouldn't mix the weave patterns. You can get the mirror caps in 1x1 weave and the performance spoiler is 1x1. As for the lip most are offered in 1x1.....unless you have a particular one in mind already and know it's only available in 2x2....................Phil

yea I really don't want to, but the performance spoiler is only in 2x2. It doesn't come in 1x1 carbon fiber. I guess I'm just wondering if it's that noticeable with different weaves on different parts.

Yea I have a feeling that it wouldn't be too noticeable, but it may just bother me because I will know that they don't match.

So here's what I just discovered......if the spoiler is in fact 2x2.......I've never noticed a difference. Mine looks identical to my roof. I thought 2x2 had a very different look to it..............Phil

You don't walk around the car thinking"hmmmm, your roof doesn't match your front splitter!" I have all of the BMW CF parts, and everything is 2x2 except the roof. It's the largest piece and the least noticeable because it is highest in your eye line and set horizontally, opposed to the other parts setting more vertically and with the weave more obvious in 2x2.

It sounds like you're the type of person who will be bugged by it endlessly. So would I, so I say don't do it.

I have the OEM CF mirror caps. When looking at them I've never once thought about them not matching the CF roof 1x1 plain weave.

I'm incredibly detail oriented, and I couldn't really tell a difference. It's not as though you are holding them against each other - they are at least several feet apart. Plus, CF looks different depending on the angle which, again, will never be the same between parts.

I'm super picky when it comes to my car, and I can't really tell the weave pattern difference between my BMW carbon mirror and the carbon roof, and I have an AW coupe.
