Look for the LCI upgrade. They went to LED in 09 or 10.

There are OEM and aftermarket blackline taillights, but they are not LED. The LCI update for the E90's came out in '09, but you need a new trunk lid if you want to retrofit them to an '08.

i think the blacklines look great and give the e90 the proper aggressive look from the rear. if you can dish out the lci upgrade go for it but youll need the 09+ trunk to go with it so it can get expensive

There is a aftermarket LCI-style taillight for the E90. It's only available in overseas right now but will probably start showing up stateside soon. I think it looks good and plug and play.

Thanks for all the info. I def dont want to have to replace trunk as well. I just cant believe that it took BMW so long to use modern lights on there rear. Plenty of other lower end cars started using LEDs in 03 and on. I will def be looking out for that overseas Led upgrade, hope it gets here soon.

Well, if you are willing to pay $600, you can order it from Australia.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/130490580857

There's lots of other LED taillights you can find for the E90 but they all have the "blackline" style look. This one makes it look like the 09+ factory BMW taillights.

So, this one does Not require new trunk?

Does not require a new trunk. It just replaces the taillights.

If you don't mind the Blackline style, there's lots of LED taillights out there.

I think that you can get OEM blackline lights? I don't believe these are LED though....

Agreed.. but after a while everything OEM gets boring... so I've been thru many sets in the past; its a hit a miss with the quality; one thing for sure OEM and OEM Blacklines FTW Quality/Finish..

But I like those MARS ones from Australia.. pricey but unique

So far I have tried Depo/ JLevi /Bimmian & SomethingChinaSmoked $169 ...which i have on now ... I siwsh the 3 led lines rounded the corners.

Here is another pic of Ebay with them lit up

Here was the older one from Depo on the 335i..

I love my OEM blacklines!!!! They are high quality as well. Watch out for the Ebay lights....
What is also cool about the OEM blacklines is the turn signals are yellow rather than red like they are on the OEM tails.
