Should I blow off Powertrain Plus, too??

Well, I didn't extend the warranty, at least to Gold and Platinum. But, I still have a chance to get the Powertrain Plus.
3500.00 is a lot of money, especially when I don't know if I will keep the car for another two years. I just bought brand new tires, winter and summer.... Am I willing to buy another set????
Powertrain Plus is half the money. Is it worth it for one / two years? Or, should I blow this off, too? I'm almost at 40,000 miles. Have any of you driven your BMWs to 60 / 70,000 miles without extended warranties? How did it go???

Can you not still get in on group buy price? It's significantly less...
