Any Other Aluminum Parts Other Than the Roof?

Just curious if the E89 Z4 has any other body panels that is made of aluminum other than the foldable hard top?

I was going to type it that way and kept imaging the Top Gear guys just correcting me and how I can't even say the word correctly being American and all.

Alright, so only the hood and roof are aluminum, nothing else?

I thought fenders were bumpers?

Anyhow for clarity I meant the panels on the side at the front of the car with the indicators and model badges on.

Oh ok, gotcha with the fenders. I never really heard of it called that way, sorry for the confusion. Fender on this car is weird too because part of it is pretty much the hood.

Those would be your front and rear quarter panels (fenders). We recently bought three of the four for my sons Mustang after he ran into the only truck in a one mile area, then decided to hit a few trees to round off the damage!!!

For the rest of you: Its bad enough to pronounce Aluminium incorrectly, please dont spell it badly as well.
Are there any other words in the American vocabulary with a silent "i"?

Ok so far the roof and the hood have been confirmed as aluminum. What about the trunk? It isn't necessarily part of the roof but I figure it needs to be pretty light to function well and fast enough with the roof operation. Can anyone confirm if that is aluminum or not?

Juice, sluice, nuisance, weird, lien... the list goes on and on.

We do pronounce the (single) "i" in "aluminum", though. Or, as my neighbor in Texas used to say "lunimum".

You don't want to start on American pronunciation while there's a country that pronounces Belvoir Castle, Fotheringay, Cholmondeley, or lieutenant the way they do...

Well everyone pronounces a silent "i" in your first three.

I meant Amercian specific pronunciations... How do you pronounce Weird and Lien with a silent "i"?

Interestingly, Lieutenant has a silent "i" as well.

As for Gaol, Leicester... We can pick on the poms all we like but they did invent the language after all.
Its we colonists who have messed it up on them.

Lien is pronounced "lean".

And I think it is perfectly acceptable to say aluminum w/o the "nee-yoom" in the end, it's just you know, American.

Don't confuse English with American:

Wing = Fender
Bonnet = Hood
Boot = Trunk
Windscreen = Windshield
Aluminium = Aluminum
Petrol = Gas
Aerial = (Radio) Antenna
Tyre = Tire
Motorway = (Interstate) Highway
MoT = DOT
Left = Right
Zed Four = Zee Four
