BMW Drivers Club NSW
Anyone here a member?
Looking for some thoughts on what the club is like, I'm hoping it's not full of tweed jacket's and 320d's... Did perform a search and could only find references from about 5 years ago about getting a one free membership with a new M3. |

Hey Mate,
I joined the club late last year. So far it's been fun. A lot of the active members are a little older, but when it comes to the motorsport side of things, there are people of all ages. A lot of different cars participate in the supersprint events. Some very modified cars. Generally a bit older, but there are a couple of new M cars around too. They do quite a few social events too. this weekend there is a drive up to the hunter to visit a winery and then back down via the Putty road. Definitely a lot of keen drivers in the club and as with any club you get out of it what you want. The calendar on the website shows you what sort of events to expect. A good mix of motorsport and social events. |

Thanks sarddenso,
Will you be heading to the driver training day at Marulan on the 18th...? Thought this might be a good way to introduce myself to the crowd - however it is the Melbourne GP that weekend... |

I'll be heading down to Melbourne for the F1!
I think the next event I will be going to is the Eastern Creek super sprint day on April 22. There are around 500 members in the club, and not everyone goes to all events. Marulan will be an interesting mix of people I think. Being a driver training day it might bring more of the family type, but that's just a guess. Whoever turns up I am pretty sure they will be a friendly lot! |

Have fun in Melbourne, I went last year, it's a great weekend.
Thanks for the tip on the club, I think I'll join and go to the Eastern Creek supersprint. Just need to save up for a second set of rims and some semi-slicks - don't think the road tyres will be up to it. |

Thanks mate.
Have you had much track experience before? If so then perhaps semi slicks would be a good choice for you. Otherwise the pilot sport 2 is a pretty good tyre for track purposes. I've only been to the track twice before, both times in Houston, just running the standard 19's with PS2s and I don't think i reached the limit of the setup yet! Hopefully will meet you at the track if not before! =) |

I have done some track stuff before with a different car (FPV F6) and that destroyed the road tyres in one day.
My wife also gave me a BMW M Dynamic day out at Eastern Creek for my birthday one year before I had an M3 myself. The M3's that day had their tyres changed during the lunch break - they were Pirelli P-Zero's though. Look forward to meeting you too. Thanks again for the info. |
