e92 LCI tails gap between seal and trunk, possible future water leak?

Recently it has come to my attention while throwing some groceries in the trunk on a rainy day that there is about a 1/4in. to 1/3in. gap where the tailights meet the trunk, not at the light area but the rubber seal. After a search i found this thread here:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=359435

I tried pushing the lights in more while retightening the 3 screws in the back but the rubber black peice never seems to be able to touch the trunk. Not sure if you guys with either the LCI or Euro LCI tails are experiencing the same thing ? possible leaking issue in the future?

its normal... even the once on the 11-12

some cars have them and some dont...

had mine for a while and no issues... no leak... water actually just flows down not inside the tailights housing...

mine has a small gap too, but the lights sit flush with the body panel and trunk, so i guess they could not be pushed in anymore.

yea but the seal on the tailights are in the middle not the outer part of the tailights... so any water will flow inside of the rear bumper...
