Painted reflectors - unpainted or painted

I've got to get my rear bumper cover replaced. They're going to have to paint it anyway, so I'm wondering if I'm better off buying unpainted reflector covers and having them done when the bumper cover is done or just buying the prepainted ones and being done with it.

Also, people don't paint over the original orange reflectors themselves, right?

I would have them remove the reflectors and fill the holes, then paint. Get rid of the reflectors entirely.

INDs color matches are going to be equal or superior to the body shop. I would just go through them for the reflectors personally.

Retarded is a bad word now. Shame on you!

Good lord no, don't let them do that or offer to fill them in with fiberglass. I actually had a shop tell me that was the only way to do it and fill the void. Nothing like laying fiberglass on a plastic bumper, good way to have it crack down the road.....

What I had done is take a totaled 3er bumper and cut pieces to fill the void. Plastic Weld them in as well as a backing plate for extra support. You can also just shave the reflectors to fit....

Pictures of what I had done are in here:

Yup - this is the way my local shop told me they would do it...although I did not take them up on it.
