Is battery charger a MUST with the ESS tune flash
I know its recommended but just wondering if I can get away with it w/o running to advance auto parts to pickup a battery charger...
Someone said the initial reading took 1hr so wondering if our battery is capable to withstand that amount of time.

My initial reading was over 2 hours. And flashing the car took almost an hour. I wouldn't risk it.

Lol alright alright I will get a battery charger just to be on the safe side
Would a plain jane battery charger under $60 be sufficient?

Your call. Some things there's just no need to cheap out on. I didn't say you had to spend a ton of money, but "plain jane" just doesn't cut it imo. A quality charger will serve you well for many years.

I'd spend a little more that the bottom of the barrel (so to speak). As mentioned, you will use it more often than you think. Any sort of holiday we take more than a week, I use the trickle component of it on the M.

Must not have been a full read? Definitely takes longer than 15 minutes.

Are there any charger options for people who keep their cars in parking garages with no outlets around? Would those battery boosters work? My initial read has taken around an hour and a half

Not that I have heard of unless you park at the top of the garage in the sun where you can utilize a solar one. Battery booster is not for charging a battery.

Do you have iDrive/EDC/etc? Kind of curious why the read times are so different.

You guys are acting like a bunch of little girls. A run of the mill trickle charger is fine.

Just because you have money, doesn't mean you have to go around wasting it.

Do you need a tender or a charger?
