Need help adjusting Akra muffler height

is this difficult to do? do i have to uninstall the whole side or is there a way i can just push it up and tighten it at a different height?

Ok, so when im standing in the center 1 ft away from the rear bumper and i look directly down towards the tips, i can see that they are completely aligned and flush with the bumper..which is how i wanted it..

But, when i move 10ft back and look at the tips, i can see that the right side is about 2mm lower than the left side. Its not much and u probably cant tell the difference much but it bothers me to death.

I know its not the tips because those ive measured and they look even, plus i know those are easy to adjust, just loosen the bolts and twist. What Im concerned about is how to adjust the height of the right side muffler part and move it higher like 2mm.

thanks for the input.
heres a pic. notice right side is lower slightly

Loosen the tips and move them to the desired location. Very easy and effective.

There isn't much, if any, adjustment in the muffler height. You could always slot the holes on the brackets but that would mean you'd have to remove them.

thanks for the comment but i dont believe it is the tips. As ive said, ive measured the tips and they are sticking out the same length and are even.

Its the Height of the right muffler section.

You can also try loosening all of the clamps in the system and retightening.

if there isnt much adjustment in muffler height, what would cause this larger gap on the right side? u can clearly see it in the picture above. it is slight but its there and that bugs me

You can adjust the tilt as well without effecting the length. Loosen it, push it up, tighten it, done.

oh wow i didnt know u could adjust the tilt of the tips. i thought it had to fit snug and flush around the muffler pipe...i guess ill give it a go and see.

i think it could the tilt, right side pointing slight down maybe a few degrees

yeah, it's almost definitely the tips. If you push them too far in, they start to angle down, you don't need them smashed into the bend coming off the muffler.

actually i tried adjusting the tips, the right side only and i could pull it out and push it in but it didnt angle up or down or close that little gap above.

There was no way to tilt the tips up and down as a previous poster wrote.

This is annoying. any other thoughts? is there a way to adjust that red hanger in the center? like loosen the bolt, push it up, and re-tighten the muffler?

Do exactly what was mentioned above..... Loosen the clamp at the midpipe to muffler connection, adjust the muffler to where it looks right and then tighten the clamp back up. I had to do this to my Akra a few times to get it right when I installed it.

You are right in thinking it is not your tips, there is not enough adjustment on them to effect the angle that much.

I'm pretty sure it's your tips. There is definitely enough play in the tips (angle up and down) to adjust it so its even. Try loosening the clamp more, then adjusting it, and then tightening it. I would probably angle the medial drivers side tip down a TAD bit more and the passenger side medial tip up a TAD.

That's another alternative. Loosen the mid pipe clamp on the passenger side and rotate the muffler 2 degrees clockwise and tighten it up.

I bet you'll find this to be the problem. Try loosening the clamp that attaches the connecting pipes to the midpipe, then hold the muffler when you tighten it back up. obviously easier on a lift.

The rear mufflers are are extremely light (as you will know since you installed and uninstalled your Akra many times). All you need to do is just loosen the clamp(s) enough that you can just turn the muffler(s), not remove the clamp or back it off all together, leave it a little snug. If you do it like this you can turn the muffler(s) slightly (from the back of the car) then step back and look and it will stay in the position you put it in. Once you get the muffler(s) positioned where you want it/them then you climb back under the car and tighten up the clamp(s).

P.S.: If you are super particular (like I am) you can lay a straight edge across all four tips to ensure they are perfectly straight and level with one and other.

Thanks again for the response. Do I only need to loosen the mid pipe clamp?

Because I tried first to loosen the 13mm bolt on the red hanger nearest the bumper cover but that was tight as hell. I couldn't even turn the bolt 1 degree and got scared I'd strip the bolt so I quit.

Yeah, just loosen the mid pipe clamp enough so the muffler will turn with a little resistance. You shouldn't need to touch the rear hanger bracket at all.
