Eisenmann Race and AA X pipe with HFC combination questions
Hello all,
I'm looking to get ER exhaust and AA x pipe with HFC for my e92 M3. However I have a few questions: - How much loud this set up will be? I still DD my ///M so I don't want anything obnoxiously loud like Meisterchaft or Gintani but still want the aggressive enough tone. - Will there be any drone? - Will there be CEL? - State inspection pass/fail? (I'm located in TX) Thanks for reading. Duke. |

I can tell you it's gonna be loud but not as loud as I would have expected. Coming from a 997.1 GT3 with a track exhaust, my catless AA pipe/ER exhaust was only loud with you push it. You can control the loudness when you let off the gas depend on situation lol.
I haven't gotten a cel yet but I'm sure it's coming. The great thing about the AA pipe is that you can change it to catless or vice versa whenever.

Good info to know, was thinking about this setup(or Eis Sport with AA x-pipe) as well. Please post if and when you install the setup. FYI, found these a while ago if you haven't seen them:

a 9. drones ok. on a car ride longer than 3 hours it gets really annoying..try looking at my youtube for clips..search ricedoutracer
I'd get it if I were you. Worst thing that could happen is you hate it and take a $150-300 loss selling it on the forums

Here is a video of Eisenmann Sport with Challenge Xpipe/HFC (15sec mark) and the other just has Eisenmann Race.
Keep in mind that its taken inside of a parking garage so the volume is a tad exaggerated.

Maybe Eis Sport is the way to go, I think that's the way I'm leaning. There is a m3post member "Fastrack" who has an Eis Sport - AA x-pipe HFC combo, maybe worth a PM to find out how much drone that setup has.

2. Depends on the x-pipe. If you get one w/ resonators, then there wont be as much drone as there would be without resonators of course 3. CEL depends on x-pipe as well, Fabspeed, what I recommend wont give you a CEL 4. I'm used to California inspections here, so I'm not sure how Texas runs their emissions.

Unfortunately I do not have more videos as i parted the car out few months ago. I have however bought another M3 that has Eisenmann sport on it and should have my challenge sport xpipe installed in a couple of weeks. I will post videos shortly after.

I'd be more than happy to accommodate your Eisenmann needs. Feel free to call or email me personally if you should have any questions prior to purchasing.

I'd contact Active Autowerkes or Gintani. I think gintani has been working on hfcs that don't throw cels!

The Fabspeed system should pass with their o2 sensor extenders.
Although I think it's a disservice to advertise that it will pass without them. I've gotten in a few arguments with them in the past about this, when they wanted to charge for the extenders. I managed to get everyone the extenders free of charge to correct the issue. The fabspeed system is definitely borderline. My issue with that exhaust is the left side hung down a little too low. Not sure if it was installation or design, but it would cause the cat to tap speed bumps if there were people in my car. I dumped it and wound up going with the Akra. Much better fitament, but totally different sound characteristics, and definitely less emissions cleaning.

getting a little off topic here but anyone know how akra slip on sound compare to eis sport sound when paired with challenge race catless x pipe? I'm getting pretty good price on both (Eis is cheaper of course) Just wanna know if Akra is worth the extra money.

At first I didn't really like the Akra. It's missing the high pitched, nuts and bolts sort of resonance sound that the E46 M3 had..
It really grew on me though, but in terms of comparing sound the two systems couldn't be more opposite. The Fabspeed one is raspy and the Akra has pretty much no rasp at all. And not hitting the left cat on speed bumps made every penny worth it. It's a little crazy on cold start, vibrates your chest from across the garage if backed up to a wall. So I disabled that - it was a bit much.
