2012 X5
I took delivery in May of my 2012 X5. This is my 4th BMW, my first SAV. I have also owned 2 BMW motorcycles. Needless to say I love BMW, for all the reasons that every BMW owners knows dearly. At about 2500 miles I heard the "popping noise" in the drivers door, then in the tailgate. Over the last 2 months it has been in the shop 3 times for a total of 19 days. The tailgate is better, the squeaks in the door panels ( front and rear) still occur. I've heard the pop in the dashboard as well. It has no rhyme or reason when it pops, it's as if pressure builds up and then it happens. The dealer acknowledges the noise but both the regional BMW rep and the BMW regional tech has labeled it as "normal chassis noise". This really chaps my backside. A $70k luxury vehicle where an engineer spends days in a lab to choose a pleasing tone for your seatbelt reminder, can't produce an interior cabin that is quiet. It has totally ruined my BMW experience as I'm reminded 2-3 times per mile driven of this gross imperfection. I would like to hear from others that are experiencing this problem, is it fixable or do I just resign myself to living with it.
