Mine has a fist-sized dent in it thanks to some random object on the 101. I need to take it in and get an estimate on getting fixed, but if it is going to be pricey then I may try to just get a new hood through insurance.

If so (and I can keep this old one), you would be welcome to it (depending on if you have any hookups to get it repaired for cheap, or don't care about the blemish for the application you need it for).

I think insurance would deem it fixable, but I'm no expert

You can go to the shop I know and see what they think

The only reason I suspect it may not be is because the dent falls directly on one of the hood creases... so it seems like it they may not be able to just pop it and touch it up as if it was on a flatter area of the hood.

Did you text me the name of that shop? Lmk, otherwise I was going to try and stop by C&C in Pasadena.
