the baby's home
Just picked up my (actually, my wife's) 2012 X5 35i sport activity tonight. This car is NICE! I'm not sure if it's because I'm used to driving the M3, but the ride on this car is smooth.
Some questions I had while driving home (didn't get to look at the manual yet)...the preset buttons (6 of them, I believe) below the CD. What are those for? I preset some phone numbers. Then I preset the radio stations (holding those buttons down), but it seems to just replace the phone numbers. I thought there were phone presets and radio preset, separate from each other. Are these presets for either/or? Also, I noticed that the finance guy didn't really pressure me at all to get those extraneous items, but he did push me to get the wheel/tire coverage (if anything happens to your wheels or tires, they will fix for free)...this was the only thing he pushed. I didn't get it, but was hesitant because it was the only thing he pushed, so I thought maybe it was a legit item. I figure if something happens to the rims, I can probably fix it for cheaper. Just wondering what you guys thought about that coverage? Still have some more driving and learning of the car, but so far so good. Love the car so far... Posted some pics...sorry for the camera phone quality pics. Strange how my M3 got pushed outside the garage... I got the blacked out grills to be put on. Have to replace that orange reflector. Want to replace the reflector on the rear as well (do the X5M painted reflectors fit?). |

Congrats, you'll love it. What interior did you get?

Looking at the gearshift lever I don't think it has adaptive drive - no sports button!

No AD for me. I was lucky enough to score this one on its way to Australia with no home to go to. I was happy to take what I could get and not wait a few months for an order to come through. I'm sure it will more than meet my expectations especially after walking away from my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited... No other word for that car except lemon. Sorry but wanted to put it out there so others don't get burnt

Same experience here - I also did not get the wheel/tire coverage. they are expensive to replace, but I figure I'll just deal with it.
