There are some exhausts that don't drone but those same exhaust become too loud when the system becomes Catless with an straight x pipe. My question is which exhaust will still be civilized with that setup? I kno akra and Dinan would be good choices but something more affordable than akra would be great!

I did the Fabspeed Maxflo mufflers with the RPI x pipe and I have NO drone. The fabspeed mufflers are really quiet to start with so with an x pipe they come alive!

The problem is that you want a straight piped setup with no drone. IMO, this is almost impossible.

Fabspeed MaxFlo gets my vote. We have a 600hp supercharged E92 with no cats at all. Just a Fabspeed primary cat bypass, Fabspeed resonated XPipe and Fabspeed MaxFlo. Absolutely no drone at any reasonable driving speeds. The car sounds absolutely unreal at WOT, but on the highway it's close to stock. Best of both worlds - period.

We have them in stock, and we are kicking off a promo tomorrow :-)

I have both cats deleted, using Akra Slip on no droning.

No offense to you Mike, but it's hard to get a real opinion from someone who is pushing a product on the OP. It may indeed perform as you say it will but it doesn't lead to credibility when you are trying to sell it.

This guy is dead on, the Fabspeed mufflers have no drone. It took me 6 different exhaust configurations to get here but I am catless and have no drone. To take it one step further my Fabspeed mufflers are paired with one of the loudest x pipes in the game. These truly are amazing mufflers and I say that after owning two M3's and a bunch of different exhaust systems. Fabspeed FTW

I had a Bastuck clubsport matched up with a Gintani 4 resonator pipe. I had very little drone.

If you come by the shop today you will see Fabspeed, Akrapovic, Eisenmann and Meisterschaft E9x M3 systems around. We are a master Akrapovic dealer and we stock it. Installed a system a few days ago actually. We sell many different exhaust brands and systems (E9x, E8x, E46, E36 etc)

I can honestly say we have had incredible results on our E92 with Fabspeed products. Anyone here can stop by and go for a ride in our car at any time - quite a few local members have been in and around our car....no BS here

Credibility? We like to build credibility with real world results. If you were a bit closer I would invite you to stop by the shop or join us at the tracks

This is the answer. Don't try to fix it with an axle back. At best you will end up with something so loud it masks the drone. Catless and resonatorless x-pipes are for kids or for race cars. At a minimum, add one pair of resonators. I am adding two pairs.

if you want to get rid of drone, you'll have to put some resonators in the x-pipe... I highly doubt you can have just straight pipes and not have drone... I got a Borla X-pipe... haven't had time to install it yet, but it has 4 resonators so it should sound pretty good.

trust me since you have 4 resonator on your xpipe... akra will be your best bet... you can have it loud but at the same time its really quite on cruises...

Like I said, no offense was meant. I just dislike sponsors chiming in trying to sell a part. Would you have mentioned another exhaust that you don't sell if you were unbiased if it fit the bill?

I told him about a system that we run on our catless E92 that does not drone. We sell just about every legit exhaust line and we did a serious buy-in to be an Akrapovic dealer.

As a sponsor it's ideal to sell products based on real world results. I am doing just that

Just to update this thread, I bought the fab speed muffler and there's virtually no drone! Mike gave me amazing customer service! And it sounds amazing from outside but quiet in the cabin.
