1st ae performance exhaust on a convertible in the US
pulled the trigger on this today, i am very happy with it so far
shout out to Ron, Elliot, Alan, and the rest of the gang at Mod Bargains for making this a very good experience! The install became interesting with the x brace in the way but we marched through it. higher quality pics and audio are in the works Last edited by OerdingE93; 12-11-2011 at 02:56 AM.. Reason: vids |

I just had the AE exhaust installed on my E92 yesterday and am obsessed! Videos can't do it justice, it sounds soooo good in person. No drone (that I can tell yet) and not obnoxious on the sound level, but really screams when you are in the higher RPM range. I had 2 people already comment how great it sounds (always comforting ). Glad to see it worked out fitting on the E93
After having the AE exhaust on my 335i (which was perfect), I am certainly glad I went with them for the M3 exhaust... welds are perfect, fitment is spot-on, sound level is just right (to me), and the overall craftsmanship really make it a great system for the $ [not to thread jack; there just aren't too many threads about the AE M3 exhaust and I didn't want to upload terrible videos by myself]

While not even sure the system would fit we went ahead and tried it anyway, I had my fingers crossed. The brace was removed and down the old system went. We then test fitted both mufflers and noticed that each side of the cf diffuser had to be shaved about a 1/4". (warning for you 3d design diffuser owners considering this system) Once this was done minor adjustments were made in the support harness and the moment of truth finally came, mounting the x brace back to the frame. Once it raised and bolted into position it clears the pipes by about 1/32". i was very relieved at this point! Although it DID clear we wanted to be sure it didn't rub and create cabin noise as the exhaust expands from heat so a small spacer was used (about 3/4 to 5/8 thick). After the spacer was slipped in and the bolts were tightened i was overjoyed with excitement to hear my new sound system! The lift was lowered and a few fans were put in place and then started her up and marveled at it's new pur! finaly i had my aftermarket exhaust iv been longing for! BTW feel free to post pics and vid of your AE system, there just isn't enough love for it on this forum. heck lets make this the AE performance thread! lol |

I have the AE exhaust paired with an AA catless x-pipe. It sounds amazing. The loudness is right on par with the Gintanni race.

I got mine a few weeks ago and love it. Def some minor but not distracting drone up to 2k rpm but the thing screams in higher range and I really well balanced to no overpower the sound of the engine, insid and out. Exhaust pops and splutters as you back off the throttle too. So sweet! Noticeably bigger than stock but still classy looking.
My challenge sport xpipe should round it off nicely in 2 weeks Last edited by Limey; 04-27-2012 at 09:29 PM.. |

Just axle back. Here's a vid of a dynojet run from my visit to EAS today but it definitely sounds more raspy to me on the road. Bloody loud on the dyno IMO. Challenge Sport X Pipes will take it to another level.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the AE Performance always evolving exhaust system on your E93 M3. Congrats again on being the first E93 in the world with this new system! The system sounds amazing in the videos and it's even better in person!

Here's a crappy vid with the Challenge Sport X pipe installed. Sounding pretty dirty. Not too loud. It's barely noticeable at crusing speed compared to just the muffler. A little farty at v v low revs.
According to EAS it's not as loud as the full Akra setup on one of their cars. Will try and take some more vids this weekend with a gopro.
