Quickest m3 with out sc ?

Guys I want to pull the trigger for the m3, but I'm afraid it will be too slow for me, my 335 is almost 430whp and 480wtq, so I was wondering what is the fastest dct non sc m3 is ? I care mostly for trap speed, and what is the mod list ? I do understand that m3 is not all about straight lane power but I don't want to be beaten by every other car there is either, Thanks !

So why would you want a non-sc M3 for trap speed? That's not the cars strength and to bolt on that kind of HP you would be in SC money. It wouldn't make sense............Phil

I just need to get rid of the 335 because it's problematic, but I want something quick and nice looking, c63 would be awesome but m3 deals are sooooo much better

Take a M3 to the track and you'll forget about trap speed and the quarter mile. Good luck on a purchase.........Phil

Sounds like the m3 isn't the right car for you to be honest. No harm in that

You won't be happy with the M3. If you beat the piss out of it, it still won't be as fast as your 335i. In daily driving, the modded 335i will spank the M3 since the 335i has massive torque.

But the M3 can do whatever you ask of it all day long and the modded 335i is, as you acknowledge, problematic.

If I was you, I would wait for the new M3. Maybe buy a new Ford Mustang 5.0 in the meantime.

The big question is, why switch to a naturally aspirated car for drag racing? Forced induction is what you mainly see at the dragstrip. As others have stated, move past the M3...it's not what you're looking for ..........Phil

Coming from that much power on a 335i, I will tell you that you will NOT like the M3.

A stock M3 will do 0-60 in the low 4's. That is plenty fast and you certainly won't get beaten by "every other car there is". That said, if your social circle is the fast and furious world of highly modded forced induction cars, then you likely will get beaten. It is a near maximally tuned NA motor from the factory, so without adding an SC, there is not much to do.

The M3 is HIGHLY capable, but it is more of a finely crafted instrument than it is a sledge hammer.

I came from a 335i with power in the 400s

and I'm more than happy with the M3

I'd take the M over the 335i any day.

Same here (save for the meth injection)...and I agree 100%. Don't miss the 335 even a little bit. I don't race stoplight to stoplight or live my life a quarter mile at a time. If I did, I'd buy a C63 AMG.

Get the new mustang and mod it --- much cheaper and starts with much more torque than the M3.

The M3 is about the "chassis". It is ill-conceived as a dragster. You will never be happy. Think CTS-V instead...it has grunt, and can handle well too.

+1. Dude, the M3 is not for you. It's a powerful, refined, precision instrument. You need a C63 AMG for your needs.

I got to agree. The M3 is a really fine and well balanced car just the way it is and I would leave it alone. Its one of the best engineered cars out there.

If you want to go stupid fast, then there are many other options that already are faster and cheaper to mod. I love my CTS-V and out of the box it is stooopid fast. A few grand more and it is crazy stooopid fast.

The new 2013 GT500 will make most cars look like they stand still and for a few grand more will push them back into the time space continuum.........Steve

Agree with all here, M3 wont fit your needs without a SC.
