Comparison article

Granted, the article is a year and a half old, but it's a nice comparison of the 2nd Generation Z4 (hardtop) with the 2006 M Roadster.

Looks like I made the right choice getting the 2006 M (personal preference may vary). Ask me again about the new roof as the weather gets colder

Small cabin warms up quickly too. Winter cold has never been a problem.

It hit zero earlier this week and the comment about the cabin heating up quickly is exactly right. My old 2001 Z3 took twice as long to warm up. Huge improvement just in that category :-)

Garage List
I drove my Jeep with only a soft top on it for years and never had a problem with the cold, I think it's fairly close in temperature after sitting over night in the winter cold to any other vehicle. Of course, each person has their own tolerances to temperature...

You can always look for a removable hardtop. They are well designed for the Z4.

Interesting idea...do they make a decent aftermarket top, or do I have to keep an eye out for an original 2006 Interlagos Blue top?

Is the 2006 M compatible with the Z4 hardtop or are there frame differences?

As far as I know, the Z4 hardtop will work on any Z4 or M roadster from 2003 to 2008..

All Z4 roadsters use the same hardtop.
