ESS Tuning question, Im UK based - need help.
Hi there guys - warning very noobish questions below but be patient
Bare with me on this one, I'm UK based and was interested to know a few things regarding ESS tuning for the M3 Planning in a few months to get the vt650 model or something of that nature from them. By my understanding, would I have to purchase the kit and get a person in the UK to install it for me obviously other than if I shipped my car to the US and flew there which obviously isn't ideal cost wise And this may sound completely daft, but does ESS create custom maps for your car when you go down there and purchase their SC kit? Or can I purchase the DirectFlash ECU Performance Software from them and will auto tune my car? Or would I be wasting my time? What is this about them sending you the .fnf ECU file also, do they send you a file that you upload onto your DirectFlash module and then apply that map to the car? If someone would care to explain the above to me that would be great. Thanks a lot guys. Last edited by E93Blackhawk; 10-12-2011 at 11:50 AM.. |

Also so everyone knows, I was a bike rider for many years, never felt the need for a car so Im just trying to catch up with all the tuning/modding info as I only ever really mod'd my bike aesthetically not internally.

OP im uk based in the west midlands, i have a Stage 2 z4m supercharger, we have simply one of the best bmw tuners out their, simpson motorsport, they are ferrari specialists and my car reguarly is on the ramps next to f40s, f40 LM and last time a daytona...... These guys are the uk installer of the ess kits and let me tell you, the standard they do things is nothing short of astounding with proper customer care, between simpson and ESS you simply cant loose.......
simpson do all my servicing and did stage 1 and 2 superchargers on my z4m..... i also got to ride out in the ess v8 m3 and was literally blown away!!! if you need anymore info on simpson or my experience with ESS, drop me a pm, quite simply the best thing ive done to a car..... the only problem is the performance is so good i cant afford to move up to my next car as id need to pay supercar money!!!!! Insurance is painful however :-(

Tell simpson that byron sent you, with the supercharged z4m!! They are the official uk ESS approved installed, i would simply trust no-one else with my Pride and joy.... awesome people. If you do get this done, be very careful what your doing, it will be very easy to get carried away, be safe.

But he said £880 to fit for the kit. And prices are reflective upon ESS's website into pounds £. Maybe ill be able to swing a little discount closer the time if i say you referred me We should head to a track together in a few months when I've got the kit, would be cool. |
