Need help with pairing iphone 4
Hi guys,
I purchased my 2006 Z4 3.0si Roadster from a used car dealer and it didn't come with a radio manual and I am having difficulties pairing the iphone 4. I am not even 100% sure the car has functioning blue tooth: The phone finds the car but when I punch in a pin-code that I believe I am supposed to come up with myself, it doesn't offer to punch it into the radio as well, it just doesn't accept the pin-code, period. I assume my car is equipped with bluetooth since I have the little mic for the hands-free caling on my steering column. Can you help? Philipp |

You need to find out the Pin for your car, it's not one you make up. Should be in your paperwork, if not there are ways of finding it, search the forums.

If it sees the car, then you have bluetooth. The code is on the bluetooth module in the trunk behind the back wall carpet. If you can't find it the dealer can pull the number for you.

Start the car with the iPhone back in the house. Press the R/T button on the steering wheel. if the radio display says "searching", then your car has bluetooth.
The four digit access code to pair the phone is printed on the TCU unit which is mounted in the space between the rear wall of the trunk and the rear of the passenger compartment. You can take the panels off the trunk to read the code on the TCU unit if you wish, although that is a lot of work and a total pain. The code will appear as PK1234, for example. Alternatively, you can pop by a dealer who can plug in their computer to the car and read the PK code for you without tearing the crap out of your trunk. Let us know how yo make out. I am considering getting an iPhone and I'd love to hear how it works with the car. Good luck!

My iPhone 4 paired up with my car, and downloaded the address book without any issues the first try. So far it works great.

iPhone pairing
I paired my iPhone to our 2006 3.0si with very little problem.
As I recall we used a rather generic code: 0-0-0-0 Maybe try that. good luck.

In the more recent model, op is right, that you select the 4 digits code. Instead of trying to find it in the trunk.

FWIW. My 08 si would not pair with my iPhone 4 without the factory provided 4 digit code no matter what number I put in. Of course I finally looked it up in the manuals and BT paired/worked immediately.
