Eibach Pro Kit Springs

I'm thinking of installing Eibach Pro Kit springs to lower the car a bit now that I have my new rims.

I spoke to the Eibach distributor in Australia just to confirm how much lower the car would be with the Eibach springs. He emailed Eibach in Germany and got the following information.

135i OEM height - Centre of wheel to guard - 355mm front and rear
135i with Eibach - Centre of wheel to guard - 335mm front and rear

This suggests a 20mm

My car with OEM spring - Centre of wheel to guard - 340mm front and 343mm rear

This suggests that the OEM height provided by Eibach is probably for the non Msport suspension. It also suggest that my car would only get 5mm drop which is not worth the effort. I don't think my car is any lower than OEM. I'm confused. Are they giving me the correct information.

After speaking to the distributor again he confirmed the part number was correct 2097.140. I told him that various people on the 1addcit forum had used these springs and are getting around 30mm drop. His response was that he could only go by what the engineers in germany tell him and that possibly the Eibach springs that are manufactured in the USA even though they have the same part number may be different to the german ones.

Can anyone here that has used the Eibach springs in Australia confirm the amount of drop. Also were the spring bought from Australia or USA.

I think the Eibach springs are a conservative drop compared to the H&R's.

Yes the Eibach are conservative compared to the H&R however, I'm not too keen on the raked look of the H&R. Also I concerned that the H&R drop it too much at the front.

I also think they will drop it 30mm however, the information the Eibach distributor has provided does not confirm this.

The Australian Eibach Head Office is just around the corner from me and I found the same issue. I have a vert and he couldn't confirm anything for me (very frustrating). I told him I can have them shipped here from the US for about $350AUD and we was trying to charge me $500 and would budge so I told him where to go.

Forget the AU Eibach guys they are hopeless. Email Tony Jackson from Eibach USA on TJackson@eibach.com he knows his product very well.

The price of the springs in Australia has dropped to $406. So the price is reasonable. I will try Tony Jackson in the USA however as the Aus guy said that the USA Eibach comes from the USA factory not the German factory so the information may not be relevant to the Australian springs. Not sure if he talking BS.

Just noticed the price drop. $406 is good. Yes the US have a separate part number to Germany. The German and rest of the world part number for a 135i coupe is E10-20-016-01-22. The US part # 2097.140 for the same spring.
Now order them cause they would look awesome on your car.

I'm just concerned that the Part number E10-20-016-01-22 is for 120d, 123d, 125i, 135i and list lowering of 30-35mm for all those models. I was under the understanding the the 135i has the Msport suspension and therefore is already 15mm lower than the other models. Does this mean that it will only lower another 15-20mm?

From what I understood it will lower a 135i coupe approximately 30mm. Email Tony to confirm.

Hi Mate,

I have the Eibach Pro springs in my 135i, and have to say it lowered the car about 15mm overall from the standard M-Sport setup. The ride is marginally harder, but the handling I think is much sharper on turn in, and more stable at high speed/mid corner. Definately a good mod for the money...

Did you get the springs from Australia or USA. Also can you please measure the distance from the ground to the guard for both the front and rear.

I remember first seeing the car once it was lowered and thinking ohh no, its too low (not legal). However to my surprise the lowest point of the car now is a nip over 100mm which is just on legal. You wouldnt want it any lower. Seems like Eibach have it spot on.

Dont get too caught up on exact measurements as they all seem to be a little differerent in drop. (same car same springs)

I purchased my springs from a place called car shine here in melbourne, although I wouldnt recommend them. I found out later that they actually drive your car to the nearest Pedders and use them for the installation.

If I were to do it all over again, I would purchase the springs from the states, and have the nearset workshop who I trust install the them.

What's a reasonable price to do a spring install? From memory I got quoted around $1200 for the whole parts and install.

That's a blatant rip off mate. I think around $100-$150 per corner is reasonable. Source the springs directly from the States yourself. From what I've been told there isn't much price difference in installing springs or doing the full coilovers. Imho, it's better to go with coilovers so you can adjust the height to exactly what you want or at least do the spring/shocks. The stock suspension is nice but you'll find the car much more engaging to drive with an upgrade.

I guess the labour is about par then, $600 for parts and $600 for labour.
Obviously cheaper to source from US
