Looking for Dashboard Trim

I am looking to buy the small left side dash trim piece in Brushed Aluminum, part no 51 45 6 961 775 (item 1 below)

I just upgraded from Madeira nutwood trim, and do to a mix up the Seller shipped the parts to another buyer who promptly lost the small piece.

I am also going to post the Madeira nutwood trim for sale, not sure what to price at? $300? It is priced over $1,000 oem.

I need the #2 piece. Mine cracked somehow. There must be an alternative place to get dash pieces.

Just curious, with all of the high tech wraps these days why do you just wrap the pieces in what you want? I have brushed aluminum now and although I like it if I ever get tired of it I may wrap it with a matte carbon fiber wrap like these.

I'll have a #2 up for sale in a few weeks. It's mint except for a very minor ding, I'm swapping out trim. New the part is $500, I'll let it go pretty cheap.

I went to the dealer and with my BMWCCA discount I bought the left trim piece for $125.

Now if only someone would buy my old wood trim.

I've been wanting Piano Black but that's nearly impossible to find. May try the wrap idea.

Thanks hogzilla. Anyone know how to agressively clean the brushed aluminum trim without scratching?

I've used a Mr. Clean magic eraser before with good luck. Just follow the grain of the aluminum and you should be good. I think the aluminum is the nicest looking of the trim, but man, its the most fragile too between scratching, dirt, etc.

Is the aluminum actual aluminum or plastic with an aluminum finish? Reason for asking, could it be powder coated?

It's aluminum, a thin coat but it's aluminum...

I suppose it could be powder coated, that would be pretty cool and a heck of a lot more resistant to damage.

I have a perfect set of aluminum trim for the Z4M. Bought it for a project but never went through with it. Let me know by PM if interested.

On the Z4M it is actually 1mm or so thick, this is comparable to the aluminium thickness in the hood. It does have a thin coating of some form of clear coat, so abrasive cleaning will damage it.

The dashboard trim piece is one solid piece of metal. Very thick and heavy compared to the wood trim

Hmmm, blacking out the dash could be pretty sweet looking.

I highly favored the carbon leather trim when i was shopping for mine, but the AL trim has actually grown on me. I still think I'd prefer carbon leather, but not enough to fork over the time and $$ to change it.
