Northwest BMW Motorfest 2011
So, who's in for this thing???

I had a blast last year. The live band was cool and we'll have another one coming back this year. We've got plenty of our sponsors coming back and a few new ones in store. This year I'll be there to lead one of the groups for the drive. It'll go through a few of my favorite stretches of road (hint: think Cougar and Carson). I just confirmed that the drive will be starting at Matrix Integrated, a shop that is known in the Audi and VW circles that is making a bold jump into the BMW and Mini areas. They've hired some BMW techs and are excited to support us. They'll be providing breakfast munchies for us at the starting point of the drive too! And this year we're stepping out and offering up event t-shirts for pre-order and also some will be available to get day of show. By the way, does anyone like BEER? Burnside Brewing will be on site as a vendor! There's a ton of info on the Northwest BMW Motorfest's Facebook page. Check that out too! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Northw...26909750725194

Attention Drivers that intend on participating in the Drive on Saturday morning: If you have FRS/GMRS radios, go ahead and bring them. They tend to be a handy communication tool. The drive leaders and sweepers will have radios.

For those attending the drive, a reminder that we are meeting at Matrix Integrated at 8am. Matrix will be providing us with breakfast refreshments (Juice, Donuts, etc). I would estimate we will be leaving Matrix sometime between 8:30am and 9:00am.
The address of Matrix Integrated is: 4000 SW Macadam Avenue, Portland, OR 97239 If you have an FRS/GMRS radio, feel free to bring it. The drive leaders will have radios and they can be handy communication tools. Please arrive with a full tank of gas. While there are gas stations along the route, I did not plan for us to have a fuel stop for this drive. The loop we're doing is 170 miles round trip. We will likely take a break in the middle, but it would be best for everyone to not have to make additional stops for cars to fuel up. We will have 2 driving groups that will be going opposite directions on a loop. One group will do the loop clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. We think that everyone will like having a bit smaller driving groups this year. Route maps will be available in the morning.

I think it went quite well. The drive was pretty nice and the Blitz was good especially for me - I won some tools in the raffle and a coupon for $50 from AR (Adrenalin Racing).
