Roof liner rattle
I have a rattle in the roof liner when going over rough roads. It becomes much worse if the sunroof is tilted open. Of course, I can 'fix it' while driving by pushing up on the area between the rear edge of the sunroof and the rear dome lights. When I push on the rear dome lights, I can feel that it is not completely fixed to the roof and bounces a bit like the roof liner is not firmly attached to the roof.
Should I bother to bring it to the dealer to fix it? Is there actually a permanent fix or will the problem come back? Any DIY suggestions? Thanks |

I have similar sounding problem. My car has gone through at least 3 attempts to fix this at the dealer. I decided to just live with it. It does not happen all of the time, even on the same road. Temperature seems to play role too. It seems to be more frequent when it is cooler, less than 90F.

Been there, done that...
Only three tries by the dealer? Mine took seven!
Touch wood it finally seems to be gone. The replaced the dome light, that didn't do anything, then they put padding in the headliner and even that didn't initially seem to do anything but after a couple of days it shifted around and now seems to be gone, 98% of the time. Of course, the passenger end of the dash is squeaking all the time, but it is slightly less annoying. I wish you luck with the dealership. |

This is a known issue, we all have it... dealer will claim they took it apart and put it back together or replaced it... just learn to live with it.
