More N55 DCT Problems
Took my car in with surging idle problem 2 weeks ago. Of course, BMW could not diagnose it, so they ended up giving me the software update to try and mitigate the problem. Unfortunately, the problem persisted and I found myself losing power at 45mph and stranded on the side of the road. \"Reduced Engine Output, engine malfunction\" displays on the navigation screen. The car was able to be crank over and took it to the dealer the following day with the SES light on. BMW replaces the HPFP in hopes of fixing. Unfortunately, no luck and the idle is worse. On top of this I have a noticeably different thumping sound coming from the engine bay that I will be bringing the car in for on Monday. Just thought I would start this thread to keep a record and inform everyone of these problems.
