Woke up to see all the windows open!!!

I woke up and looked out the window this morning... and ALL the windows on the 135 were open including the sun roof!
They had been open all night!
I did not drive at all last night and it was cold last night so I would not have been cruesing around with all the windows open any ways.
Could I have opened them all up by sitting on the comfort excess key in just the right way? I am so lucky it did not rain last night!!!
The car is parked maybe 25-35 feet from a room with a large window in which I play video games and watch movies at night. Is the key really powerful enough to work from that far away?
I really do not want this to happen again so i will be taking my keys out of my pocket every time I walk into the house. Any other suggestions/comments?

Yes it can work from that distance and it was mostly likely to be if they were in your pocket in an unusual way.

I keep reading stories of people sitting on their key fobs, causing them to open their windows. Do you guys really put your key fob in you back pockets??? Do your pants not have front pockets or something? I would be afaid that my ass would break my key fob, not to mention how uncomfortable that would be. I can't stand anything in my back pockets when Im sitting down, not even my wallet if I can avoid it.

I had my key in my front pocket, but my iPhone was in there as well, so it is very possible they got more then personal in there and pushed each others buttons.
From now on my key comes out of my pocket as soon as I step threw the front door.
If it had rained it would have been a catastrophe! It is a good thing I live in a very safe neighborhood. I almost lost it when I looked out side and saw all the windows open! lol

Has nothing to do with comfort access. I can put the windows down walking across the parking lot from 100+ft. You must have sat on the button.

Something must have been poking the 'open' button on the fob in your pocket. What kind of movies were you watching, anyway?

I'm lucky if mine works from 10' away but this happened to a buddy of mine who parked his cat then hopped on a train. Came back to all open windows after 12 hours open in broad daylight.

check the owners manual. i am pretty sure you can reprogram the key from in the car to remove that feature so it doesn't happen again.

If you are referring to what BMW calls the "Personal Profile" settings which are stored with each key, remote window opening on/off isn't one of the programmable options. Unfortunately as our remotes (both CA and regular) have a large range - mine operate non CA functions at 100 feet - some care is necessary.

About 2 hours ago, I moved my 328i about 40 feet away from in front of my garage so I could take my 128i 'vert out. Then after repeatedly pushing the fob button to open the 128i's windows and lower the top with no success, I discovered I still had the 328i fob in hand. So after retreiving the correct fob and running errands in the 128i, I returned home just as a major thunderstorm (with tornado warnings) was about to start. It began to rain so I safely stashed the '128i in the garage and figured I should move the 328i closer to the house to avoid any tree limb damage. But when I got to it, all the windows were halfway down - from my operating the wrong remote earlier from inside a garage 40 feet away! Luckily the seats only had a few drops of water on them by the time I got the windows up although we've since had about 2" of rain.

So while the BMW remotes are convenient, it's important to remember they are not idiot proof.
