135/N54 Excessive Oil Consumption ?

I just "topped off" my car 5 weeks ago... this is how it read today.

I'm a bit concerned. 21,000 miles, my second BMW with the N54.

Or people sleep at night :P

Anyways,

Assuming when you topped it off it was at MAX, you have a problem. Just to be sure, go to a flat level road and check again. Once I was on a really steep downward hill and my car showed almost 0 oil.

I'm pretty sure that's your case, if it isn't then you should take it to the dealer if you can recheck it and it is at the same level.

What do you want us to say? You have an issue, get the dealer to fix it.

Modern engines don't eat oil like that after break in. Personally my N54 ate a quart before it's first service and hasn't eaten any oil since

That was a scary day, I was taking some fun turns quickly and suddenly the dashboard lit up and the engine cut due to low oil. I turned so tightly that I oil starved the engine

It can be any number of things including a misaligned head gasket or a leaky turbo. Under the hood do you see any oil residue? Don't be surprised you have to fight for a work order for a full engine teardown

I was a quart low after 5,000 (since last change). Have dealer top it for free and keep an eye on it. If it happens again you bring it in with proven history.
