SOMETHING Different.....(also on E90post)

Hey everyone,

I posted this in the most general thread I could because I am looking for ANY and ALL advice.

I want to do something different to make my 135i stand out and be completely different from whats already out there..

I've seen people with different styles of hoods that i've never seen before, which is cool.

Wheels are wheels and are not "different" unless they are really...REALLY non-main stream. I feel like thats just a matter of personal preference.

Side skirts are nice sometimes but its very easy to look...RICEY with them if you go too crazy in that department. Same goes for body kits, etc...

Exhaust is personal preference and an "weird" one might get annoying after a while.

PS: Im not talking about neon lights, shag interior, and flames coming out the back here.hahaha....just some novel ideas!

I'm also NOT just talking about body work. Anything N54 related is VERY welcome too....

Thanks in advance...

If you have the budget then go get a custom wide body done.

Not many people have done matte vinyl wraps but those look really good. sorta difficult to maintain though, and they all start peeling after a while, but by then you might want something new anyway

You could also try and get a custom exhaust done. not "weird" sounding.. but center exit maybe? hoods and trunks always make you stand out. getting HID angel eyes and making them a strange color such as red (though that might get you pulled over), yellow, orange, blue (not blue-white... BLUE), violet.. is interesting. if you want to be different you can also chance your money on buying interesting and different looking cosmetic mods from companies nobody has ever really heard of or bought from before. startups from japan/china, or german companies willing to ship to the US that nobody has heard of are a little difficult to find, but still easier than you may think..

Also you can get some crazy colored O.Z. rims.. red, orange, blue, gold etc

340 each for 17" and 4 and change for 18"

If you'd leave it stock you would stand out. Everyone on here has changed theirs so you would indeed be unique.

extra weight, less rigidity... performance minded people wouldn't go for the convertible, thats why we don't see too many modded 'verts. The typical 1er 'vert owner, no offense, is not after performance.

I guess that proves your point tho.. nobody ever does it!

Get one of those horns that plays La Cucuracha and hang fringe balls from the headliner.

I wasn't looking for an explanation, simply explaining a fact. I think that I'm the only person moding a vert, or one of 3...

The point is that not a lot of people do it

yea I realized that which is why I said it proves your point... get some rims on your 'vert... that'd look sick and really unique! I don't think I've seen a 1er 'vert with rims... ever.

Be careful. There is a fine line between "unique" and "cheesy".

Haha...thanks for all the feedback. I think in the end its a matter of personal preference. and unless you have loads of cash to spend, it isnt worth making the car cheesy or ricey..

trade up for a 1M in Valencia Orange and have the wheels painted black. At 1000 units worldwide it's going to stand out. Otherwise save up and get one of those new Lambos I'm sure those will break necks at every intersection.
